hes got a few bikes this guy
-
He always has some pretty cool bikes.
That's not a bad price for a 360 Mugen, it's got some good parts on it just needs a little TLC.
-
Nice background
-
Ahhh AZMike....That eBay seller has got to have the most outrageous pricing for very ordinary husky parts I have come across. Maybe his complete bikes are reasonable but as for his parts.....tell em hes dreaming son ;D ;D ;D Needless to say I have never bought anything off him and I see the same items re-advertised time and time again for the same mad prices. Maybe its a Husky pricing thing ??? ???
-
A lot of his restored bikes are very expensive but the Mugen being pretty rare is not too bad.
-
He's kidding ...and for another grand he will pull it apart and crate it up. :o

He says he will box it up and ship worldwide for $1000.
-
John, the way I see it $300-00( built into price ) plus another $1000-00. ???
-
I dunno Johnny - when I saw it I thought it was expensive - especially for us with another couple of grand on top to get it here - so what $7K before you start working on it?

Spend a couple of grand on it with a set of plastics, some paint, etc and you could have it decent for around 10-11 grand all up.
Most of them i've seen here have a $15,000 price tag.
It's a bit of work and money but if you really wanted one...
-
He is a little miss leading . He is saying a grand to box it and send to a shipper. Not to another country. Also in the questions a guy put him straight about the 'real mugen' bit. Its a kitted cr250 with a good rear end. $8500 au to Cali, $1000 to get it here is $9500. Then you would spend a bit doing the resto. Could get expensive. No bargains here . Probably too dear for the US market.
Shit he has some bikes.
-
yeah im confused too. One way it looks like hes charging $300 (included in the price) which gets it to a port location, then another $1000 to ship from there to your country. When i view the listing it says $1000 for international shipping at the top. Then you could also read it as, there is a $300 fee to get it to a port location, then if your overseas, hes gonna whack on $1000 to box in 2 boxes to get just get it to the international port???????? I am so damn confused!

Johnny - ME360's here in OZ - usually dont get too many bites over $12K Aus?

Ross i know of one that changed hands here last year for $15,000.
I sold mine 6 or 7 years ago for $10,000 so i figured it should be worth a lot more now.
After a better look at the US one it's pretty rough and would take too many $$ to bring it up to scratch and it only has standard forks so it's not really a good buy.
-
But isn't it a kit bike not a true ME 360? Wounld'nt that be worthe less ???

Your question was answered in your quote. A real ME360 brings it close to works bike prices.
YUCK what a heap of you know what.....
Suzuki? (shit)

Why? You feeling lonely down there?
-
Getting back to the subject.. most of the ME360's were kit bikes.
In the US Al Baker the importer brought in a few complete Mugen bikes that had a modified frame and factory Showa forks and shocks with a Mugen built swingarm but they were expensive at $3500 in 1979. You could buy the complete engine kit for $650 and fit it yourself to a CR250R which is what most people did.
As far as i know only 1 Mugen built ME360 from the factory made it to Australia back in the day for Mark Pace to ride.

yes but that one is a 390 isn't it?
-
I'm not sure Hoony, i asked Mark Pace about it one day and he was sure it was a 360.
-
i'm not 100 % sure either as my hard disk is near full and a reboot is not possible. too many beers ago.
i just seem to remember when Elvis had it it was a 390cc but not sure if that was original when pace had it?
didn't curly end up with that bike?
Anyone?
-
Yeah i think curly has got it.. Brad will know.
-
yeah curly has the bike
and yuk what a piece of poo that ebay mugen is ::)
-
As far as Curly and Elvis are concerned, its a 390.
-
I would be more tempted by the YZ360B he is selling with parts.Stil an expensive base for a resto but lookin good on the track when finished. It would be a shame to mate such a bike with my riding skills :)
-
ME390

Mugen swingarm on it would be nice, looks like early Fox or Thor or something. Just seems like kitted pretty hideous CR, then you don't know the condition of the expensive part, the cylinder and piston, apart from it is missing a fin or 3.
-
That's the real deal Mugen swingarm on the bike.
I've got pics i took of that bike in the pits at the '79 Mr Motocross at Amaroo Park when Mark Pace was racing it.
Back then it had factory Showa piggyback shocks on it.
-
Back then it had factory Showa piggyback shocks on it.
Bruce ended up with those. I wonder where they are now.

They looked trick..be nice to track them down.
-
i know who originally restored the mugen
could find out if its a 360 or 390 ;)
-
remembering some old mags I had - When Mark rode it I am pretty sure it was a 360 - and played with much much later to make it a 390???? I think (general disclaimer there)

Easiest way to tell would be to see if it has a spacer plate under the barrel.
It would have to be stroked to be a 390 cos the bore is already way oversized.
