As Firko pointed out with the crated bikes topic the other week, what could you do with it? ??? You couldn't ride it. You can't tinker with it. Can't even rest your cup of coffee on it in case you leave one of those brown circles so it can't even be some fancy coffee table. :( Your mates are gunna get sick of coming to look at it after the tenth time. Somone's probably knocked off all the internals and no ones the wiser...... :D
-
As 414 said with a brand new vmx bike all you can do is look at it..
As soon as you ride it it's worth a 3rd of that and i'd want to ride it!
-
Just recovered from my lie down....
Yes true John but wouldnt it make a great ornament in the man cave!
I know some associates of the owner, the bike is unmolested and original....
-
How could anyone buy a MX'er and put it away for 24 years without starting up ???. How could you so obvious live on a farm and not take it for a hoot ::). I feel sorry for the guy :'(. I hope he gets his 20 grand, Psychotherapy is expensive. Poor guy, he needs help ;) :D.

The same could be said for a Picasso painting. I have a bike in my home study and people that are not into bikes ask why is that there?, I simply say why is that painting on the wall or that pot plant on the floor? ::)

that would be like, I had Christy Turlington for a sleepover and we watched some videos and then went to sleep ::)

If I was spending that sort of coin, I'd rather a works bike with race history.
-
nice bike lots of money 8)
i am with zorroz i would rather have a works bike with history
and i would ride it ;) :o
-
Buy it Holeshot and you can swap it for a ride on my Honda at CD7, you know you want to. ;)
-
I'm with Zorro re buying a works bike instead, but its a nice unit and possibly the ony new one in the world???

A works bike would be better, but when do you ever see a works bike for sale, just about never, especially a Suzuki 500. This is the next best thing and worth the coin - got to be the only one in the world.

You would be surprised... Works bikes are quite often for sale in England and the US.
You just need the coin and the right contacts.

saving up for one now
they are around but scarce
and its not a honda ;D

This was in the pre-renovation days now the house is too nice to put bike in it! (and had no kids back then). My excuse was that lots of bikes were stolen in my area (true) and I was in fear of my bike been the next one to go. And my wife bought the excuse :D
-
1 of the guys I used to know through the VJMC had a first model TZ350 in a glass case in his lounge, story was that it was bought & prepared for racing but by the time the owner had finished it either wouldn't have been competive or the owner couldn't be bothered by then. So a few years later it came up for sale cheap as old bikes did with full spares kit etc & never having been on a racetrack, who could resist that?
-
I suspect the seller is under financial pressure, something to do with property development and the GFC I suspect.....
-
That rm500 is not a bad price considering what it is. One of my pe400's might go inside when done my mum and dad just dont know it yet it should be allowed in my room ;D the gt80 is going inside.
I want to do up one of my 400's like new and ride it inside and see what mum said she hadn't seen my gt80 till the other day and when she did asked what bike it was :P not the old red one any more shiny blue.

Yep the real effects of the GFC happen a couple of years later. Really struggling when you have to put the family silver and the RM500 on the block. Buyers market, offer him NZD 10K cash.

Would love to but no GM bonuses paid to me this year mate!

Yep inhuman resources found a way of wangling us out of our bonus this year....highly motivating.
20 K AUD is not so expensive, another struggling property developer I know is out for more than that in council rates.
-
Yes Mr Serepisos!
-
The GFC has a lot to answer for, especially amongst the young. They can't afford shoes and wear worn out hand-me-downs as cloths :-\ :'(
