Time to get your entries in for Round 3 - Lakes May 15th & 16th 2010
OK members & guests, another great weekend of vintage motocross action has been run and won at HVMX Rnd 2, Bulahdelah. So now is the time to start thinking about our next event.
Round 3 will be held at the spectacular Lakes Motocross track, Awaba NSW, just off the F3. This track has become one of the favourites for members and is always immaculately prepared by Darren, Rob and the crew from the Lakes Club. So do yourself a favour, if you haven't ridden this before, make sure you get your entry in now for the next round. Don't miss out on a great weekend.
Full canteen shall be operating from lunch time on Saturday and then open again for breakfast on Sunday morning.
Rec riding on the Saturday with all bikes welcome and 2 full rounds of HEAVEN racing on the Sunday. Get your entries in early for another top weekend of VMX riding & socialising.
Camping is permitted at the track, so make a weekend of it and bring the family along for great weekend out.

Hi Dan
went to renew my membership online, however the site has been 'hacked'
Is it possible to email you my membership renewal and race entry for the Lakes and pay on Saturday?
Will be travelling up from Canberra and can't get to the track till about 2 due to other commitments, is that leaving it too late to get a rec ride in?
Lastly, what's the race order in the arvo for the pre 85s - early or last session.
thanks
Woody

Hi Woody,
The HVMX website is working fine now. I suggest you use your "refresh" button on your browser as the hacked page must have been from a month or so ago.
Cheers,
Mark

Woody,
You can join up on Saturday if you like. Would be handy if you can print off a membership form and race entry form & have them pre completed for Saturday. This will speed things up. If you get to the track around 2pm, I shall organise to get your bike scrutineered and should still be a couple of hours of track time at least for Saturday arvo. Pre 78 bike shall be first up this weekend keeping in line with alternating the era order.
Mark,
Thanks for answering the web question. Will you make it to the Lakes this weekend? Cheers
Regards
Dan

Well, another great weekend of VMX action. Good numbers were on hand for Saturday and Sunday to experience the Lakes Track and the facilities on offer by the Lakes Club. Huge thanks to all those who helped out on the weekend with flagging, lap scoring, scrutineering and sign on etc.
Special thanks to Rob and Darren from the Lakes Club for officiating over the two days and getting the track prepped for an awesome weekend. Also, big thanks to the ladies who manned the canteen over the two days and provided good food and drinks for the riders and spectators on hand.
Some great racing was witnessed in all classes with a number of new members joining the club on the weekend and then experiencing the whole HEAVEN VMX Inc "ride" over the two days.
Plenty of people camped at the track on Saturday night with loads of bench racing and liquid refreshments being consumed till the wee hours of the morning.
Once again, thanks to all those who helped out with the weekend and especially the Lakes Club for the venue.
See you at Cawford River Classic on June 26th & 27th. Cheers.

My God, is that a hill I see, are we looking down it? That looks fantastic. Vote me in.
-
EML the track is soil on hard pack base....no sand. Probably rock under it all but never shows thru...too well maintained by the minibke dads.
The hills are good and steep but not overly tough, just a good test for power and skill.
-
Forgot to add my favourite.
They don't call him the HARDMAN for nothing.
Maintenance Issue SON!!!!

What a grouse looking track! ;) That old Monty looks the goods (pity about the weird little number plate :-\) That's the sort of stuff Evo + bikes should be racing on..... :)
-
Yes Ross (he of the LOUD front number plate, you know what they say big number plate, small...........) the old Monty went like a rocket ;D ;). The HARDMAN just passed Birko and I, hit the big table top and stopped dead with a furccced wheel. We just managed to go one either side of him :o Oh so close.
Really great weekends racing. Sitting on the start line just after the Sunday afternoon shower it was just, well, Heaven :D
-
Here's another victim of the centre table top. Always happins the the first round :(

Track is counter clockwise.

Yeh its a great track and the people in the Lakes Club ( who run the track ) are a great bunch of people who are only to willing to help us vintage guys out. Even if we don't get the Nats there next year, maybe 2012 , who knows. I'd still encourage vintage guys to come and have a ride at this track as it is a ball of fun to ride.
