I think Popeye said we could bring the sidecar out for a lap or two at lunchtime but we both have the shits with it all at the moment so we'll most likely take a rain check. I see him tonight to pick up my wet gear from the weekend so I'll know more then.
-
must be time for Rocksberg, forecast for rain! ::)
-
EML not sure if Roxburgh is the right track for sidecars, can be very tight in places.I thought the committe was still discussing the proposal that Popeye put and hadn't as yet made a decision.
-
Let them run, if the blokes can clean drunks at Conondale they could master Rocksberg ;D
-
What most folks don't realise is that even the ISDT used to have sidecars and if anyone was at BMCCs Beaudesert meeting early last year they would see that there's not too many tracks we can't get around.
Roxbourgh is Redcliffes old paddock from the mid seventies and I remember it quite well. I don't reckon the track is a problem however getting a good field has always been the issue and we wouldn't want to let the huge crowd down.
-
Fair point.I was at the BMCC meet a few weeks ago when 3 sidies lined up,so you would probably need at least that number to make it worthwhile.
-
Yes numbers are always the problem. It all stems from the fact that when we get older we are supposed to move to sidecar racing in our retirement so come on you old buggers --get on board!!!
-
If someone can locate that DR500 sidecar frame that went to Beerwah many moons ago, I have a engine etc ready to slip into it. That would make another on the grid.
-
Nick has located thet one but they want to hang on to it for some strange reason.
I have another one in the wings and Ronnie has an XT600 he wants me to build up- so there will be some coming along.
-
I have got a pic of the alloy frame DR500 outfit in an old ADB somewhere i got the mag last year and there was an old sidecar article in it and a decent pic of Geoff Udys 500.
-
Is this race an enduro or MX and is it open to pre 90 ?
-
Geoff Udy was very good mates with Geoff Eldridge from ADB and he talked him into doing a bit of a story on it I think. I would love to see a copy of it as I used to passenger for Geoff on the old girl. It was a very good thing and that's why I want to build another so if we can catch up so I can get a look.
-
Odd1, Rocksberg is a QVMX club day track on Caboolture River Rd. QVMX runs pre 90. All you need to run is a membership and MA competition license - all available on the day. It is a lot of fun so come along. ;D ;D

Mate sorry about any miss understanding, but l am going to meet with some Guys at roxberg this weekend and maybe, hopefully we might be able to do a demo at the coles creek round to see if the competitors and crowd dont mind the sidecars having a ride, but nothing is organised just yet.
-
People sorry for any miss understanding on the sidecars being at Roxberg this weekend, im going there to meet with the guys to talk about a possible demo ride at the coles creek meeting on may 2nd will let you no more when l do............Always remember if you aint pushin it you might as well be pullin it.....
-
Well the hard part is done. Had to sift through boxes of mags and found ADB dec 82. Its got a report/results on the Australian MX championships. The largest sidecar pic just happens to be you (EML) and Geoff on the DR with 'Aluminium Fabrication' in big sign writing across the front. Allow me a few days to scan it. Its got the results too and Barry Buckley beat you guys in the junior championship and R. Bergmeier/L.Trewin got first in the seniors. Theres a photo of Brian Stewart on a Wasp but he isnt in the results anywhere ???
-
Popeye, I am impressed you can type with those grip like S*&% hands you must have from hanging on to those things (sidecar that is).
I for one would be supporting it (side hackers).
Coles Creek would be a top spot for them, just need to watch some of the deep gullys.

So the Popeye speaks-and I thought he was like the STIG and just went fast without saying a word :D :D
-
Well technically he hasn't said a word only typed it ;D ;D
-
No worries Popeye. We'll see you Sunday, and thanks for the help at Biddadabba a few weeks ago.
-
Was good to be off some help at the Biddabah what a track would have loved to have had the sidecar out there.. Hopefully l will have a solo soon and can join in the fun with it as well, hope the stigg has'nt forgotten how to ride a bike with two wheels.................... REMEMBER. Where ever fear may be look it in the eyes ..................Popeye

somebody agreeing with worms, even a honda rider :D
best track by far at Rocksburg, the only accident of the day was------------------------------you guessed it, a honda rider ;D
Cheers Worms, super fast yamaha's
-
Yes, you are right again Worms (twice in one day ;D), but it was a very fast Honda Rider that got carted away in the ambulance then came out in the next heat and smacked your butt (Again ;D ;D :D)
Shane (so bloody fast you can't see us) Wilson
Hey Trev, left the door open for a short joke there ??? (can't see as that is)
-
I thought the only reason the certain Honda rider went down was that he thought he was going to be revived by the same young Blonde Medic we had a the last meet. When the 2 guys turned up he sat up quickly and walked off...!!!!!!!!
Must try and get that same medic again !! ;D
-
yeah right, you bloody agree with me twice in one day and then you want me to make jokes about vertically challenged people, even prompting me >:(
NO, i've decided to be nice to all you short arse's from now on! so there ;D
Cheers Trev

Your right Spectacular she was spectacular (if that makes since), nothing worst then dumping it in front of your pit crew though.
As as team leader I did the right thing and made sure the bike was ok ;) Old riders are a dime a dozen but some of these bikes are hard to get parts for :D

Thanks to the QVMX Com for all their efforts sunday ,great track ,had it all .
