Post by: TT on April 08, 2010, 01:42:46 pm
Can anyone offer advice on the eye to eye shock length on a '72 DT2MX, please?

DT2Ms didn't run thermal flow shocks, just the original chromed jobs, but they could have been 330mm. I checked a Koni list I have but it didn't list them for DT2M

In oldspeak, I think 13.5" will be pretty close Tony.

Thanks gentlemen, I haven't even got the bike yet but I found a set of shocks that I thought might suit.
They will.  ;D

I just checked the Yamaha Superlight article in Cycle World, which was based on an RT2M. They used girling shocks for Huskies (just under 12") which were said to be 1" shorter than standard, which would make the originals pretty close to Freaky's 330mm (13") if you want original length. But I'd be running something a little longer myself.
