Hi Freakshow,  yes,  but you can always ride in the Pre-75 250 class and go hell for leather.
I am thinking about the smaller yammy's that have been doing well in Dakar the last 2 years.  Who would have thought those YZF's could keep up with the larger KTM's?  Not the same I know,  but you know where I am coming from...
Better to ride and have some fun, there was never going to be a class for 90's 100's, 175's & 185's,  even if you go back 30+ years,  I was always curious why Suzuki and Yamaha came out with these crackpot models.  Even of late,  the 65cc models for juniors...

Boy's, boy's, boy's, no imagination......the bloke that bought it is a little fella, so he can ride it in the 250 class or change the barrel and piston to a 125 and race the piddler class!!... 2 bikes in 1, now who's the clever cookie!!!......... Yamaha.... it's a way of life. ;D

I ride a PE175 in the 250 class and have a great time. Never going to win anything, but who cares.

set up right, a MX175a would be super competitive in the pre~75 250 class.
in Brisbane, they run an all in pre~75 race in thier program and the 125's do real well.
so a 175 should be the goods.
besides, it's the right shade of yellow...... ;D
