well as the topic says I'm in for CD 7.
booked flights this morning, committed to go after not making CD 5 and CD 6 ( made all others).
there's a shit load of forum members and old bike fans i want to meet with
so if you see a grey haired short arse with spec's/shades and a Hoon Hat come up and say G'day.
Roll on June......................
-
Me too! Thanks to the generousity of a couple of other forum members. ;D
I'm riding up though.
I'll either be out taking photos, drooling over bikes in the Husky or Klub Kevlar Kamps or having a quiet beer somewhere.
I reckon we should have OzVMX badges with our user names so I know who bloody hell you are. :D
See ya there!!
-
Not going via Alice are you tony?
-
Wasn't planning to, but what have you got in mind?
Send me a pm or email if you prefer.
-
It was a just in case thing. We (the other Brent and I) are driving down but will be there a week earlier for the QLD titles.
-
No worries. I can't get that much time off so I'll go with Plan A, I reckon.
-
Are you taking bikes Al? Jerry
-
not sure as yet Jerry. if someone has trailer space i am more than happy to pay fuel money.
if not i will just take it all in with a few brewski's. are you going up?
-
Hoony....Your welcome to drop in at Kamp Kevlar for a soothing Margarita or a Czech beer or two. If you're willing to slum it on pre 65 and pre 70 tackle there's plenty of bikes for you to ride as well. Are you going to the Bonanza?
-
no worries, will do. i wouldn't call riding old bikes "slumming it", on ride days with the boys i like to swap as many bikes as i can with anyone that wants to ride mine. much prefer these days to racing now.
yes i will see you at the bonanza, not sure which day as i will not be there for both at this stage.
-
Hey Hoony, that 500 is a little to big for carry on luggage ;D
-
Unfortunately unable to take bike but most likely will drag my sorry arse up there if I can get a leave pass. Went last year it was awesome. Where you going to stay? Jerry
-
Well done Hoony - look forward to meeting you finally. Your welcome to ride my bike any time. Make sure you bring YZHilly with you ;)
-
Bring your riding gear mate ;)

I wonder the same thing Tony, why don't we have t-shirts with our forum tags printed on the shirt?Even caps, badges,or somesuch.
Last year I went to both CD6 and the Nats at Connondale, and being new to the vmx scene,I found it difficult to meet people.I felt uncomfortable stepping into their space, and not knowing faces struggled to identify people, etc.So some form of identity would be a great ice breaker to approaching fellow forum members.
All that aside, really looking forward to meeting and shooting shit, with as many forum members, and the Qld crew this time round at CD7.
I'd offer you a ride Hoony, but I reckon the DT250A might be a bit too much for you to handle. ::)
Cheers,Mark.
-
You can have a ride on my PE175, but she'd be a handful after that girly CR of yours :D

Likewise, hoping to catch up with many forum members, as for YZHilly he's a bad influence on anyone and not sure if I'll get past airport security with him.

All I have is this..

Well, I'd suggest www.vmxmag.com.au (http://www.vmxmag.com.au) of course - but I guess I'm biased.... ::)

Let me get this right, theres no organized races, its more of a free ride around the Connodale track?
-
Yep that's right.
Ride sessions only with about 50 riders on the track at one time (an all in a such).
Last year had a stand alone pre 70 track and the main riding track for up to pre 85.
Morning and afternoon ride session (both days) with breaks for legend laps (lunch time) and also sidecar sessions.

Thats good, I can quit my 'training like a muthaphuka' program then. ;D
-
Well there is a lot of drinking that goes on at night so I would keep the training up!!

would that be training in the pub then you are referring to Shane
-
Hey everyone.... just thought I'd pop in and let you know that the Saturday night entertainment is completely under control now.
Yeah, yeah, I know a few of you might have thought that it would be as per last year, but no, that was not possible due to distance and band lineup changes.... :'(
However, I have managed to find a great Brisbane based band for the Saturday night - the band name is "Grumpy Old Men", which for some unknown reason seemed entirely appropriate for CD7!
So we all should have a good night's entertainment on the Saturday night at CD7!
-
You'd better start practicing Iron Butterflys 'Inna Gadda Da Vida' now AJ. The 'good 'ol boys' aren't going to request it this year, we're going to demand it! The mosh pit could get very ugly if our requests are ignored. ;)
-
Hoony, Trainings, training, where ever the venue ;D
-
Shaping up that PB20 can make it too....just getting a bike organized. :)
-
Well done PB - be sure to introduce yourself around. Hopefully we will be doing name labels again this year
-
60 days to count down :P
-
Got the bike...doing some riding, gathering some cool gear. Cant wait!
-

Wonder how things are shaping up there and what the possible weather forecast is. ;)

Don't know yet till next week about the long term forecast..but I do know its a NEW MOON so it'll be blacker than a Nuns Habit.
Trips, falls and fun for the drunks amongst us ;) ;D
-
As I understand it, the long range weather forecast is good. Here's hoping... ;D

packed the vmxmag books Ajay ? Hannah Story etc ;D
-
Green Park is looking good. We had 8mm of rain last week and cloudy days this week but no rain. Next Thursday the temp will range between 8 and 22 at Conondale and fine days untill then.

Actually, I wasn't planning on bringing the expensive books to sell at CD7, simply because they are very likely to get damaged in the uncontrolled outside atmosphere that is VMX central.
Maybe one way around this would be to bring one example of each and take orders which can them be mailed out later. Would that suffice? :D

Yep good stuff

I've posted on the other CD7 thread, but I'll repost it here... ;)
PLEASE do not try to arrive at CD7 earlier than 7.30am on Friday. Entry for General Admission and Camping will not be possible prior to that time.
If you are travelling from a distance away and it looks like you will arrive sometime on Thursday (even in the middle of the night), you will need to work out a place to stay for the Thursday night. Alternatively, we would suggest you retime your trip to arrive on Friday morning. There will be three camping grounds at CD7, so there should not be any problem finding a camping spot. ;)
