Now the penny dropped , you are the man that sold me the IT 175 , my first bike in australia . Are you still a member of the Rovers ?
I might consider stirring up the pot at a club meeting underway to Broadford . Still Thursday nights ?
Just as well you still had a sense of humour Walter :D :D :DThere's a bid at $1000 which surprises me ::). If it's got a good strong motor a $1000 might be reasonable but I wouldn't be bidding unless I knew ;). But anyway appreciating prices is good for all of us who have a garage full of old shite ;D.
Hey Graeme sorry for hijacking your thread. I think they must be joking about the reserve price of the Monty.
Stan.
Whats the pipe off it aint the montesa one thats for sure they go thru the frame over the top of the airbox on that modelNo, it's a Monty pipe. Here another but very similar model. Essentially the same but plastic tank and a very cosmetic differences.
Hi Graeme, I may be wrong but this looks more like a 1977 model that had a down pipe as per this pic.I agree this is close to '77. It and the ebay bike and the yellow one I would say are very close relatives with a side port motor and a VR based frame with LTR. But subtle differences. Either they went through three very close models 6 months apart or they produced the side port and centre port motors concurrently, which seems strange to me.
Regards Stan.
