really there you go looks radical for a dt to need something like that. I thought it may have been never seen that head up close before on one. :)

Well he stacked the kx because it takes off flying when you go over the mid range front wheel comes up it is not a real good bike for trail riding 96 model I don't know might get a pe175 though they aren't to powerful still go good but just not so peaky like the little kx I wouldnt sell the kx no way if it were my first bike mine burnt in the bushfires I have thought about building one the exact same it was a z50 with st70 motor but I am not going to do it because it wouldnt be the same. :)

Good fun bike for a younger brother to play on ,,,, 175 traily two strokes are a bag of fun for lots of people, I personally recommend them when asked the old what's a good fun bike for a family just out of the minibike stage. Sure the CR,KX.RM,YZ etc 80s have tons more race go but I am looking at the all round fun riding learning experience. Cheers mate.Tim

very underated little bikes the DT175. i had on of the later models and my brother had one very similar to whats in that add.
heaps of fun, go anywhere, do anything, smiles all round.
easy to touch the ground too.

hey frosty if he dont like kx dont get him a pe 175 dont know if mine has had any work done to the motor or not dont know what size piston is either, but mine will lift the front wheel up in 4th without trying ;D.ive raced a kdx 200 2 stroke 2 xr 400's white models with red seats and a number of xr200's and 250's mostly in a straight line and not been beat yet :D.dont know if mine is one of those freak motors but been asked if it is 250 or 400 many times by young and old even after they see it go most of the time when i tell them its a 175 the answer i get is bullshit till i show them the engine number and also beat a yz 125 2 stroke yesterday late model blue one.cheers gary

if a modern 2-stroke expert has breathed on it, then you might have a lot more power than the standard PE175. Don't forget they were fairly light and with a modern porting and pipe via computer, you can get a ton more power out of them.

Which reminds me - I should ask Herr Stolk about a certain 175 in his care  ;)

I have ridden the kx don't ask me how because my knees restricted the ability to turn it was a funny sight but as soon as the little kx hits it band it takes off big time it is different to the pe or dt style where they can be powerful but predictable which the kx is a bit nasty for someone learning as I was told by a few guys but I thought he could handle it he will need a bigger one soon looking into a pe175.
