Hi Jerry, I assume you mean the Mk 7 and not the Brochure. The Mk 7 isn't for sale as it will always remain part of the family.

Stan.

mmm...nice! 8) there is one Astro I know of that's a regular down at Coffs Harbour DT but I somehow doubt Russell would ever sell it as he races it frequently ;)

Stan, I will give you my children for your MK7. they could join your family and their very handy. The eldest one is a plumber and the younger one a carpenter. What do you reckon? Jerry

Hey Jerry its a catch 22, it's a very tempting offer because they would be very handy as I need to build a shed to put the Bully in but without the bike I wouldn't need the shed.

p.s. you could look at it on the cover of VMX#5 though.

regards
Stan

Jerry, I do believe that was Russels' Astro from Coffs at Double the Dirt last year. Was there with Don Thornton and the #13 Rickman TM125? If so that be the bike I'm talking about ;)

I grew up with all the Landrigan boys and they have some very nice bikes ;) ;)

huski I read somewhere a while back that a '69 250 Pursang pumped out about 30hp and the 360 around 45HP. Both fast bikes but 42HP maybe exaggerating things somewhat. Stands to reason if the 250 puts out 42 then the 360 should be well over 50HP..but this is not so ;)

Yes doc does sound like a lot for a standard 250 but good ol' school tuners knew their stuff ( imagine how she would go on A ) i had a 370 mk 9 back in 76' (stock) that supposedly put out 42, very tractable power,a gem to ride.Got a mk5 iam building at the moment sure like to get 42 out of it but probably keep her fairly standard for reliability :)

The Astro's were giant killers on the dirt track so one could possibly assume they did have big HP but it would have all been at high RPM with nothing in between. If it really was 42 that's bloody amazing ;) I've a picture of Russel's bike somewhere, been trying to find it for a day now ::)

still can't find the dang pic I'm after but this was taken at the '08 Coff's Classic showing the Astro in the background. That's my TM125 and Dodgee's TM250 #3 I rode at said meeting which is coming up again very shortly. I'd love to go this year as it's a great place, Donny and the club in general are super friendly and the track is unreal 8) finances will dictate whether I get there or not ::

Doc,

Nah that's not the one i saw at DD. The one i remember was in original trim and the same model as mine.

I have a 1972 Mk6 350 and whilst i haven't spent allot of time on it to date, i am in awe of how smooth the engine characteristics are. Just wind it on and off she goes. I just love the sound of it..bang.....bang...bang....braaaaaarghppp!

Cheers,
Steve

I found out something that l did know today, that number #18 was on board a YZ 250 B, I don`t remember johnny riiding that model. l told me today he rode the yz for a short time.
The old clive was consistent, good rider, very fit, but beatable.

Hi Dot, Yeah I can't remember him on a YZ either. I can only remember the TM's, Bully's & Kx's. Clyde Tucker was certainly a feirce compeditor.
