basically, i have 2 sets of forks and no clamps,
can anyone help out with a set of leading axle style triple clamps to suit the 38mm Yamaha forks?
 i'm in Brisbane,
 thanks in advance.
-
Maybe... Need to go out to the shed and check.

If either of your sets of forks are YZ250/400D, then perhaps we could come to some sort of partial trade (obviously forks are worth more than triples)?
-
one set is 125j and the chrome ain't that good,
the other set {good chrome and i'm keeping} i'm not really sure what they're from, {the stauntion measures about 50mm shorter that my 36mm 125F does} and the Yammy front wheel bolts straight up to them.
i'll take a guess and say early IT.
-
Most of the early ITs had 36mm forks - even the 250s and 400s.

The other give-away is the axle clamp.
Early ones have a single 8mm pinch bolt (YZ250/400D, and maybe E).
Most have a seperate plate that's held on by four 6mm studs (IT250/465, YZ125H/J, IT175J/K etc).
There's also a third type from the late 70s that have two 8mm pinch bolts (YZ250/400F, YZ250G, probably others).

Anyhow, none of that helps you get triple clamps. I'll go and check later this morning.

Where they those tripples Nat, ones in those 2 frames i send up to you last year ?  i reckon both had tripples and were like 36mm/ 38mm

-
The IT175E and the IT/YZ/DT hybrid? Both 36mm forks.

-
theseones i have just have the single pinch bolt on the right leg only.
thanks for the info so far Nathan.
 i'm still keen.
-
all i knew was they werent 34mm   :O)

-
I have a set of forks here that look yamaha with a leading front be either 36/38mm good  chrome and legs, would swap for something i can actually use.

-
				Pics Freaky?

-
Note the little square block locator for the brake drum - might give iD

VAndy i also must have the tripple for these ones, if not i would have a set of TT500 alloy tops and bottoms, bought them for a TRick frame and the stems turned out to be half inch to short out the top, so wont be using them.

so are you saying you "have" a set of 38mm triples Freaky?
 for "leading axle" Yamaha forks?
 i'm interested.
-
And after all that, I don't have a spare set of the triples you want Vandy. Sorry.

 Freaky, I'm keen. Price?
-
thanks for going to the trouble.
 cheers!
-
So what are those forks off then ?

-
What are the forks off ?

 my forks?
i'm not sure exactly. the Yammie brake backing plate fits up perfect, 1 pinch bolt on the right leg only,
38mm leading axle, drain plug at rea/bottom of leg with a "dummy" casting the same as the "drain plug" casting just above the drain plug. if that makes sense.
the forks ain't the issue for me.
38mm leading axle clamps to fit a Yamaha is what i need.
 perfect if you can help.

The guy at the end of this thread seems to know his stuff . Freaky's forks look like YZ250/400D forks. Vandy's forks sound like YZ250/400E or F forks, because of the extra dimple.  But either set could be off something like an IT. I don't know my Yamaha parts that well .

				thanks for that Husky,
