Woo hoo! its that time of the year again :) :) :) :)
Sign on and practice day, is on the 21st of Feb. A working bee will be on the day before (20th of Feb), many hands make light work, so if you have a couple of hours to spare, we'll see you there ;)
Keep Smiling :)

what time will the working bee start? I can fit in a couple of hours if it's an early one, like 7am

Somehow I think you might be on your pat malone at that hour :D, but thanks so much anyway. It is going to be a big day though, the grass has been slashed, but we have had more rain since, so please all of those that can make it, don't forget your tools...
Keep Smiling :)

I'll be there with the mighty Husqvarna Ride on mower, just need a husky wiper sniper, chain saw, leaf blower and sewing machine to complete the important machines. ;)

Its a shame they don't make husky cars or vans hey Glen..LOL

hey Paul, if you still want to head up to Nudgee early let me know as I could meet you there whenever you wish ;) (so long as the gates are open no problem) My Greenfield is out of action till next week at least after ingesting half a broken throttle valve shaft and small butterfly screw last Tuesday. She went to full noise then silence with zero compression so I knew it wasn't going to be pretty :D a minor technical hitch :P
Glenn, I have a reasonably new husqvarna line trimmer, it's lightweight and very orange and ergonomic but it lacks real punch compared to the big Kawasaki ;)
-
You can pick me up on the way Paul ;)

no worries, there's plenty of room in the tray ;D
-
As long as I don't have to ride with "the Yellow Beast" I'll be fine in the back ;D
-
7am is 'late' for Popeye so he should be there. I too have a Husky ride on and Deb has a Husky sewing machine but I'm not sure about the blower- I'll have to ask her.
I hear that the grass is very tall so it might be good to start early.

as long as she's swedish... ;D

so are you "in" for the BMCC practice then Tony?
be good to catch up if you are mate.

Yes Vandy if I can get the crank seals on the 465 replaced before then. Having trouble tracking down a rattle gun and compressor. I have all the parts ready to go.
Do you think I could get the primary drive and the clutch nut tight enough by hand ?
Not wishing to hijack this thread - sorry.
-
I know someone with a rattle gun and a compressor
-
BRING IT DOWN THE SHOP WE CAN RATTLE IT UP FOR YOIU
-
I've a 24V rattlegun, best thing I ever bought as no compressor required ;) doesn't the primary drive nut have a lock washer on it, isn't it a lh thread and can't you use Loctite if required? I've never ever rattled on any nuts or bolts on any bike (or car for that matter) and I would not recommend it, only ever rattled them off when they get a little stubborn.
-
i usually jam a thick copper washer between the gears and "undo" it with a breaker bar.
same washer jammed between the gears when "tightening" but this time i use my tourque wrench.
whats a rattle gun?
-
OK - thanks everyone for the offers and advice. Obviously my mechanicing is a little agricultural ::), but we get there in the end. I have all the tools to do it Vandy's way, so I will launch into it tomorrow.

Yes, no (I don't think so) and yes (I do that as well).
Now back to the practice day - I assume I will need a day licence to be covered by insurance. Also assume I will need to join the club on sign up day to be able to ride. Mainline I won't really need a lift on Saturday, but any chance some space on the ute on Sunday ? I have lost "my" bike trailer :'(
I will bring the 2 Hondas on Saturday (the mower and the whipper snipper) ;D ;D ;D and the yamaha on Sunday (providing new crank seals proves to be the issue)
-
tony, no worries for the lift sunday. Looks like i'm working saturday to try and catch up after this rain
-
Are you sure those Hondas will be reliable enough-this is hardcore mowing you know. I'd trade up to a Husky if it was me!
Being jap it will need avgas and a port job by lunch I reckon. Not to mention 6 plugs and special premix.
-
Mainline - I'll be in touch mate - you are a legend. As an aside I thought you blokes would have enough roofs on to get you through the "wet season" :P.
EML - the Hondas are reliable as they are both 4 strokes ;) I'll admit they are not industrial strength, but I'll bring 'em anyway to see if they are any use. Hopefully the bold claims about the Husky infallability are true - otherwise it may be your shout to keep us all quiet ::)
Look forward to meeting a whole new club of fellow VMXers.
-
Wouldn't shout if a shark bit me! but I'll have an esky with something cold in it.
-
note nth brisbane is holding a dirt track meeting the same day for anyone feeling -practise mx and have a wizz around onthe dirt track i will get a chance to give the new beast a run
-
sounds interesting, what do we have to do to have a run on the dirt track? Are knobbies a no-go?
-
got run trials tyre have a couple of free ones here i save for dirt track
-
knobbies are fine on the front Paul, just the rear needs to be changed ;)
-
just checked the Husky(ride on) seems to be close to trials universals so what time is scrutineering.
It's a single 4 stroke so there'll be a class for it-might have to pull awheek off to get in the sidecar race though.
-
What a fantastic turn out today, the pits were full, the track was grassed over in areas, and thanks to the recent rain, dust was no problem. Always good to meet new members, and catch up with old ones (members) all in all it was a damm good day :) March 14th is our first club day, don't forget, you can email your entries in.
Keep Smiling :)
