Hi all,
i`m helping a good mate of mine get a PE 250 up and running as it`s been sitting around for a fair while. I have the following numbers from the bike and was thinking could someone on here steer us in the right direction and confirm what model / prefix it is.
Compliance plate says to comply with ARD No 28/33. model 3/1980 pe250-201***
Engine No pe250-201***
The engine and frame numbers don`t match, should they have matched up from the factory?? Thanks in advance for any help. Peter.

PE's may well be different due to ADR's of the time but I've never owned a Suzuki with matching numbers even from new..have seen such on 1 of the very first RM370A's but that's been the only time ever :-\ later models perhaps..dunno jack shite about those ;D
-
docs right never seen a suzuki
with matching numbers
no such animal ;)

I agree with Doc as my 1976 TS125, with compliance plate does not have matching frame and engine numbers but they both match the numbers on my original sales docket.
Things may have changed in the Suzuki factory by 1980 to match frame and engine numbers, but I doubt it.

Pe's definetly dont match the frame number and compliance plate frame number need to match but engine is always different I own a few so I hope they arent spose to match :P but seriously no the never matched on any PE thanks Michael. :)

I have never seen an RM or PE with matching numbers. I have collected a fair bit of info on PE's and can be very confident in saying NO, they will not match. Interestingly to correlate with Doc's mentioning the 370A, the PE250B and PE175C also supposedly started from matching numbers - but drifted off. I have never seen one with matching numbers.

Luke as I stated I've only ever seen it 'once' on an RM370. The numbers on the said 370 are RM370-10040 ;)
