Wow what an awesome line up, more like a GP! Would have been hard for an Aussie to be top 3 at those titles.
So many familiar names, surely more depth of talent back then than nowdays.
-
This was one of those "Great" meetings and possibly one of the best tracks of the era with bottomless sand if I remember.

you're right Stan - my first Senior meet was there in 1978 - track set up slightly different but the bottom end of the track was all sand - top was fairly hard pack with a couple of decent downhill jumps which really used to test the suspension - geez good to see some names there from my past!
;D
Rossco
PS - I also recognise some of the officails names - mr Jack bratt and I weren't really on speaking terms!

Gday Rossco
from what I remember the deep sand turned into deep rolling whoops, but really good to ride the old bikes in.
Cheers.

Gday Fatboy,
glad you enjoyed it, I don't mind, do what you like with it. It's a shame it's not as clear as I would have liked.

Also in the program, number 10 Shayne Woods was one of the founding members of Tas Scramble Club. Was still racing up until about 2000 when his injuries finally caught up with him. Was still blinding quick.

Hey Ed, I wish I had their secret to staying fit enough to ride for that long.
Cheers Stan.
