At $50,000 I reckon it's pretty valuable right now :o :o ;D
-
I doubt anyone in Oz would pay that money but he's a big star in Europe and would probably get it over there.
-
Can anyone/someone on this forum come up with a plausible/believable reason why the current World Speedway Champion is supposedly selling the one and only bike that he won that World Title on a couple of months ago.
-
he has about 4 or 5 bikes to choose from.
2010 new eveything just like every other full time racer new year new bike need the edge over the rest.
-
ive been thinking that to , not to menthion all the secret technical parts they have developed ,make no sence at all
-
Jimg1au if that is the case why does'nt he do what the rest of us do and just trade it in at the local shop. They'll surely know who they are talking to and what it's worth.
Still waiting

pls tell me were you can go in sydney melburne brisbane and trade in your hand made speedway bike and get a replacement hand made.
most gp and top uk league riders mix and match there bikes.i dont know what bikes you have col but with speedway you can have x motor built to how you like your spread of power.y frame with your own measurments.c wheels,d hubs and so on and so on and they all bolt together.
and all this stuff is given to them so the makers can sell there std stuff to us
ie
buy jawa engine from jawa.buy frame from antig c/w engine plates.buy counter shaft and clutch.
then get matcho mick to make fiberglass replica guards and john titman to supply wheels and alxes
and so on then you have a speedway bike you like
most top riders dont have oem bikes

jimg1au are you trying to tell me that Jason is that hard up for funds that he needs to sell his number 1 bike from from his 2009 campain
(and you would have to presume his favourite) to fund his 2010 championship aspirations.
I did'nt think we are talking about a good say B grade road racer or motorcrosser whom is juggling a full time job with trying to take the next step up to A grade who is kinda compelled to put his arse on the line (that would be sign up for HP) for the newest model.

In 30 years that bike will be very valuable!!
In 30 years time i will probably be dead ;D
Wouldn't surprise me if its a promotional bike put together
-
i wouldnt think so either.from time to time ex world champ winning speedway bikes come on the market from all years gone past.the 50000.00 price tag to me is cashing in on his popularity at the moment, its the most expencive 1 i have ever seen.its not his first world champ so he problebly has the others at home he won the champs on,only jason knows the rear reason for this sale.
-
here we go-Back in the day-when I spent some time with the then sidecar mx world champ, he offered his EML Jumbo to me so I could sell it down under. At the time he was given 2 outfits per year ( more if he crashed one) and at then end of the season he could dispose of them however he wanted.
I advertised it for $10.000 and was basically laughed at. At 120hp and 210kg it was very hard to beat as he had shown with 4 titles in a row.
That same bike is now not worth a cracker as you can't race it anywhere but in 10yrs that may change.

To pay his medical bills?
I was suspicious about it too, but if you were seriously interested, it'd be pretty easy to sus it out before parting with any cash.
Watching the seller's feedback/account status would be a pretty good indiciation of whether it was the real deal or not.

I spoke to Crumpy yesterday and that bike is 1 of about 7 he used in the Grand Prix last season. He bought it out here to practice on and has the others back in England which he will use some of for this season. He has at least 1 of the bikes from each World Championship year.
He rode the bike listed on ebay last week at Nudgee north Brisbane.. it's the real deal.

Bit rich for me, i could pay 15K for an ow40 or similar, but thats an emotional buy anyway
