Title: A bit of Jeff Leisk History
Post by: Scunge on January 29, 2010, 09:12:57 pm
I am slowly turning red, no doubt due to my summer CR "project" hence a recent acquistion of some replica gear used by my favourite Aussie MX rider (he smoked the 500 champs in NZ in the mid 80's).

I thought the Honda men of the forum would get a kick out of some photos of the gear!

People don't seem to be interested in jeff Leisk  memorabilia for some reason. I bought 20 of the Jeff Leisk 1986 Cr500 Mr Motorcross stickers on Ebay a couple years ago for $5 I was the only bid :)Darcy

there was a few before him, but he was certainly the most successful on the world stage to date in that time.

Maybe because he never actually won. I would stick with the King and Coppins memorobilia. ;)

Actually I am a fan as well, Jeff and his brother Mark were riding when I was in WA, though much faster.

Mark was a big bloke who could do a walking speed balance point wheelie on an RMX250... nice trick

Shane oh Shane, you have got to get over this sheep thing,I think its messing with your head.
But,as you know we Kiwis shag the sheep, kill them, and then export them to Australia for you guys to eat ;)
Cheers closet Jeff Leisk fan (and closet female human fan -thats taboo over here).

So we shag them coming and going then  ;D

My best memory of Jeff was on a DR400 wiping the floor with everyone at a state titles MX meeting  ;D

I remember the first time I saw him ride. It was when he was still a Junior at Dargle, I think the Aussie Titles were being held there. His lap times on his 125 were quicker than most of us on our 250s and Open classers. He was on the gas so much more than most. It was like his bike was an automatic. Extremely good rider, a class above the rest.

I know his family from MX and Speedway over here in the west.  I rember back in 75 practicing at the SAS track in Swanbourne on a Suzuki 125, when this bloody little kid flew past me on a Suzuki 250, was amazing to watch.
