Title: How much oil for a CR 250 83 model

My mate has a HONDA CR 250 1983 model, how many mills of gear box oil should it hold ?
 it has no oil amount written on the clutch cover like most bikes have ???

does it have an oil level check plug ? usually a M6 bolt with a 10mm head/phillips combined.

my CR250RG (1986) takes 650cc

Thanks hoon, dont no much about the check plug thing ,its a mates bike ,but my mate said some one told him behind the water pump cover theres some bolt ???
but we didnt take the cover off to have a look :o may have to have a look and see whats there :D

you dont have to take water pump off, its accessable from the outside. what he should have said is the bolt is on the left off the water pump casing as you are looking at the water pump. email me and i will send you a pic of location.

US manual says 0.7 qrts after draining and 0.8 qrts after reassembly - just check on the conversion but I got about 650ml and 760ml respectively.

RVC is on the money around 650cc drained.

Shane
