Title: Grahame Dawe-Wheel God
Post by: All Things 414 on December 16, 2009, 07:37:17 am
If any of you need some wheels built by a guy who's been doing it for years then get in touch with Grahame from Grovedale in Geelong. He's been in the bike game about forty years and is an all-round decent bloke.
He did these wheels for me. New rims, powder-coated the hubs and backing plates, made the spokes and laced the whole things up to exactly the right off-sets. He even put a helicoil in the hub for me and put in new bearings. All for a very good price.
He gives you a wide option of rims depending on your needs and budget (mine were Eight Ball's)and can supply new Akronts which he drills to suit.

If you pick up in person he usually has a an old bike or two that he's restoring which will leave you feeling pretty average about your own projects. :D

Grahame Dawe. This months All Things 414 really great bloke!  ;)

Weeeellll.......... because he's an old Monty man and I'm an old Monty man he did look after me  ;). Normally you'd be looking at about $900.00 for both wheels for the work that he did on mine.
