Title: 2010 Masters Games.
Post by: firko on December 09, 2009, 01:29:15 pm
I received the following email from Queensland racer Colin Metcher this morning. Col's a tireless worker for the sport and it would appear that he's managed to get VMX and Vinduro onto the program for the 2010 Masters Games to be held on the Gold Coast. Vintage Motocross was on the Masters program a few years ago and it was well supported. I particularly remember a pissing down rain mudfest at Coff Harbour that was a hoot. This is another "must do" for next year...........
I've secured classic mx & vinduro for the games next Nov. MX will be natural terrain [ not Reedy Creek} & Vinduro in the same general location [ Gold Coast area}.
Basic eligibility is -- min rider age 30 yrs bike classes Evo & Pre '75 [pre '70 & '65 depending on entries ].
Vinduro 2 hours , 2 riders 2 bikes pony express ,bikes to have been manufactured as "trail" or enduro bikes ,with lights [ no one is checking if working ].
Following the Vinduro will be a 3 hour enduro open to all bikes new & old , MX or trail or enduro , in teams of 2,3 or 4.
   Anticipated age catagories 30-39 , 40-44 , 45-49 , 50-60, 60-69 , 70 & over. In the case of teams , average age will apply.
For example a PE 250 rider could do the Vinduro , enduro & Evo mx.
Vinduro & enduro on the Sat & MX on Sund.
This is all very preliminary , but the basics are there.
           Regards
                     Colin Metcher.

This will be a great follow-on from CD7... just enough time to get myself re-organised, afterall we can't rush these things.

Oldfart, what do you think of joining up for the teams event?
Should be a ball.

Stew
When you say both events, are you meaning the Classic MX and the Vinduro or the Vinduro and the 3 hour Enduro?
I don't want to speak for Ed but he more than likely wouldn't ride in either of these events, he prefers the more casual practice or trail ride rather than a full on event.

If you do need to look for another ride partner, keep me in mind. I should have the XT500 well and truely ready by then.
