G'day viewers I'm after a cam chain for a side port early model honda XL350 + cam chain tenssioner what ever its called I'll put up with a good condition second hand tenssioner but the cam chain needs to be new any ideas who can surpply such things and maybe a dictionary as well so I can spell the bloody things right :-[ :D jimson

Both items available from your local Honda dealer. The tensioner will cost ya left nut, but the chain (DID or chinky) is readily available after market. Both items appear on ebay NOS pretty regularly too. Cheers Tim754

I'm pretty sure the tensioner is NLA. At least it was when I checked last year. Tim's right though, you should find one on eBay anywhere from $50- $100 I reckon.

The local honda shop is not interested in my old XL so I can't buy parts through them and the cam chain tensioner is NLA. jimson

when ordering parts for a old bike its best not to say what its for and just ask for the part by part number because as soon as you say an old bike they just dont want to deal with you.

Leith, You got that right .

Has anybody got part numbers of said products please.jimson

Worth having a trawl through the David Silver Spares or Bike Bandit websites for older Honda stuff. You'll get raped buying from your local shop. Also BK Performance (used to be Bert Kingston). You'll be surprised what's available compared to the local lethargy for older models....

Tensioner PN# 14500-356-003
Chain PN# 14401-356-003

Anything with '356' should be for the XL350 ;) and it is so damn right about ordering with part numbers!!!!

Have a look at Xlintperformance web site usually have what you need & at fairly reasonable prices(with the exchange rate) & quick shipment.I have used them a bit, email them with your enquiry they fairly quick to respond.

Talk about being raped....my mates just done his water pump impellor shaft on his 06 wr450f...local yamaha dealer price.....$123.00 for 1 shaft and 2 seals
Thumper talk and other US dealer sites approx $28.00 for the shaft and seals and $25.00 shipping.
I will support my local dealer if he matches any US deal.
The price differences between them and us are just ludicrous.
I'm trying to save a buck as my local dealer drives around in his latest gaylux ute and jetski/2010 YZF450
As they say you gotta look after #1 and my a-hole has run out of re-bores!
