Hi All,
I'm looking at buying a bike in the US and bringing it back to Brisbane. What are the costs likely to be?
I understand that there are a couple of members who do this reasonably regularly?
The bike has the original MSO, which I'm told helps get it out of the US...
Thanks.

about $1850 if delivered to LA depot
Peter Leah Custom Vehicles 211 Brisbane Rd Labrador is the best at it

DDR say they can bring a bike in starting at $1000 and thats to Brisbane.
Ive heard that you need a "title" to get it out. I dont know what that is or what an "MSO" is either but it sounds fair.

Shoreline M/C has a deal gong at the moment.

I landed a bike into Brisbane through Peter Leahy Custom Imports this week. Cost $800 + $195 customs clearance fees +$125 quarantine + 10% GST on purchase price. If bike is over 30 yrs old there is no import duty - if not duty is 10% on motorcycles I think - best to check.
Getting the bike to Long Beach also costs. Cost me $350 for Iowa to Long Beach using Patriot Express - very good price and great service.
If you want to insure the bike during transit thats extra also. I was quoted $500 on a $3000 bike so declined. Leahy does not offer insurance as part of his price.
Shipping took 13 weeks for my bike - I was quoted 6-8 weeks!
Good luck

13 weeks is about average.its a min 6 weeks on the water.week or 2 either end for customs and clearing.
my stuff takes about 3 months from date of purchase to date of pick up.
cheers
