Title: 1980 RM 250T questions
Post by: SLAWESY on November 14, 2009, 06:09:48 pm
Hey Guys
Can any body tell me the original lenght of the RM 250N/T shocks?

Any body who has installed other types of shocks what lenght shock did you end up going with, have read that an extra 5mm to standard can make the bike turn a little better?? Looking at Ohlins ATM sizes in stock configuration are 360 & 380 mm.

Motor serial number is 47102 is that infact a T motor?

Thanks

Thanks Suzukal
That is a fair bit longer than the ones I have, I have 360mm on the IKON's and 350mm on the Olhins

They've been modified to be rebuildable. They have new shafts & seals and are the same lenght as stock... give or take a couple of mm.

Ohlins spec sheet for 79/80 RM250 says 394.5mm
Original KYB shocks measure 395-397mm depending who's measuring and if the top out rubber is compressed a little.
