Title: Magura power/dog leg levers.
Post by: mx250 on November 09, 2009, 09:05:33 pm
After so many positive comments here :D I was going to use these Magura levers on one of my projects. As you can see I'll need the clutch side lever and I would like to have one of each as spares. Any one got the levers or know a, preferably Ozzie, source of of Magura parts.

If you don't have any luck locally, I get mine from this guy in the states. Good service and fast delivery. Price, including postage, on today's exchange rate would be about $78.50 for the pair.

Does anyone know if these are the same quality as the original 70's-80's? Are they worth the effort/costs?

Graeme...They're the exact same item as the period stuff and if anything, better finished than the 70's/80's items.
You won't get a better price anywhere than from Thommo.(Weekend warrior)

"Are they worth the effort"
Fairly large effort involved with getting these lever assemblies. You have to actually click "buy it now" :D
They are genuine Majuras, I've used 3 sets and my brother-in-law Thommo is really easy to get along with. He lives in Ohio this week but was in Indiana last week and possibly Michigan next week, and he may have a different name but it's all above board. Make sure that you ask for a left and a right as he gets a little confused sometimes.

Sorry Firko but the lever perches are not the same insofar as they are split at the mount - which makes them easier to fit, but not period.

The assemblies can be sourced locally and I have a new one of each available now. I can follow up with a price if you are interested. I've purchased from Weekend Warriors too and found them to be great to deal with.

My mistake, the levers themselves are the same I presume.

Bought from "weekend warrior" long time ago and as others have stated, them are very good to deal with. Also, the more sets you buy, the cheaper they get. From vague memory, bought four sets of lever assemblies and two throttle housings and got something like 10% discount.

Just had a email from Mark @ weekend warriors saying magura prices are going up in December due to increase from manufacturer, will pay to get your orders in now. No mention of how much the increase will be
