Gilberts one of the great South Island guys who made us so welcome at the South Canterbury Club 100th anniversary meeting a fortnight ago. He attended the Crawford River Classic a few years ago, the one where great racers like Chris Drake, Rob Happer and Malcolm Hill were forced by the then HEAVEN grand poobah to do a competency test before they were alowed to race! I got this shot of Gilbert having a mid race rest with his Greeves at the Timaru vintage motocross a fortnight ago. ;D
