Darren ( cant remember his last name. Motomaniac knows him) from down your way has his swingarm, shock and frame. I have triples, seat, tank, plastics and had forks but swapped them. the motor was sold years ago. Motor was a Mugen and mounted in frame different. The standard motor had to made to fit the Mugen frame. Even footpegs were different. Visually the swingarm looks like the works ones and twin reservoir shock. Other than that it looked pretty stock.

Brad, are you refering to Elvis? AKA (Darren M)

No. Brent will be able to clear this one up. He has the '82 480 and a Mugen kitted '79 as well.

There were two bikes. The one that McMuffin has is not quite like the one described here. The other one is somewhere in Melb , but I never seen it.
Read your PM's! You didnt give back the spring retainer and circlip with the foxshox.

McMuffins bike (was mine) didnt have a whitepower shock but a trick Kayaba with an extra heavy spring and unbelievable heavy dampening stack( possible for the OZtitle that year .Cutts won in the sand) also 2 eremote reservoirs.

I traded the forks so they could be used on the other bike you are referring to as one fork was broken by a trailbike hack and thrown away.

That's an interesting read. It says it had a white power when Mcmuffins had a twin res. Showa.
the triples I have are similar to original. Not billet as they say. The bolts in the clamps are in the front on the Mugen and from the back in original. The bolts hit the tank on Msmuffins bike. The sidecovers have the number 7 on them.

yeh darren was looking for some more info on his bike i tink hes getting a custom alloy tank made for it and ill take a look for those brackets brent i didnt get a pm ??? i thought i gave em to you with the shock if there not here ill see if i can get a mate of mine to copy a set from my ones
-
I am very sure those forks with the blue top cap are a White Power aftermarket kit. i cant see them being anything other than that. the top cap with the air valve in the middle and the 2 flats on the sides definitely looks like a WP kit but there may have been another brand that copied the WP kits?
-
LOOKS LIKE A WHITE POWER FORK KIT TO ME
I USED TO RUN ONE THE SAME
I THINK LEITH IS RIGHT ON ;)
-
i thought the knobs would have been red for WP, thats the only point im iffy on.

The bottoms seem to be magnesium. They are 43 mm and were to suit a single brake arm as I had to modify the brake locator to fit in my 480. So they are pre '81.

Interseting internals Brad. Look like mag lowers in the pic , def not stock lowers .So not just kitted forks , maybe they are early works with a later Knobby kit retro fitted. Thye look the goods anyway

Was anyone in Australia running an ME in 1983? I've seen '82 Euro ME480's and I remember one pic from the '83 Canadian 500GP of a 480 with the Mugen head.
