CR390 bike frame number ML22749 and does anyone have a side on photo of one?
-
It's a '78 according to the chart i've got. The CR390 ran from '77 to '80.
-
Ok thanks. So it should be this one then?

I rode one of these around Jilliby motorcross track many years ago and after a few crashes gave it back to my mate!
-
Pelle Granquist did a lot of winning on one of them.

What length shocks are standard on this model? I have some that are 436mm off a model i quoted the frame number off of but the shocks on the above 78 model dont look 436 long but i guess its a bit hard to tell by the photo :-\

Hey I'm no Pelle Granquist so I got back on my CR250 Husky and watched him crash it :D :D :D
-
Looks to me like a HUSOVARNA ???
-
436mm is 17 and a half inches which is std on 78 cr250 honda's,ive measured up a mates a long time ago and i seem to remember the shocks being 15/16 inches tops
-
I think they should be 385mm
-
Yes , I think that they came fitted with 383mm Ohlins remote reservoirs . I am looking for a pipe off a '78 CR390, to put on my '77 model, if anyone has one laying around . The '77 pipe has a big bulky muffler section built into the pipe (that burns your leg & the seatcover), where the '78 has a narrow stinger section with a seperate muffler on the end.

As stated elsewhere on this forum..1978 250 and 390 shocks are 15 1/8 long..whatever that is in mm..the 390 's came with Ohlins and the 250 had gas girlings on them...

About 15"1/4 or so is what mine is/was.
I have tried a set of 15"3/4 to see if it helps with the lack of turning. Mainly due to what I had lying around.
Mine still has the pain in the a**e 17" rear wheel !

Ok so the bottom line is the shocks i have, although they came off a 78 model, were longer than the original fitment so someone must have decided to fit longer shocks at some stage. Thanks for the help guys.
