why do your nuts over bike that looks the same every year
Because for one, its keeping the 2stroke dream alive.
 Two, its looks fantastic,
and three, the kx250 2 stroke never came with an alloy frame.
Was it a 250f originally Simon?
Is the front end standard with nitrided staunchings? ( Is it an '09 roller)
I see it has a big'O' on the back.

Fair comment and nice bike  :)

But whats it got to do with vintage  ??? I thought this site was about unrealiable vintage bikes  ;)

You'll have to excuse my ignorance as I haven't paid much attention to moderns for a while, but I was going to ask what makes it different too.

I think it's the busy graphics that make the moderns all look the same.

So the 2 stroke didn't get the alloy frame, I guess that makes the bike an older design? How far back does the standard KX 250 date back to in it's current design?
Is the alloy frame that much better
or
have they changed the ergonomics of it as well
or
is it just the suspension that makes it better?

The last 250 steel frame was a 2008 i think? And the that was the last model made and was the same back to 2003 when they redisigned it.  The kx250 never had an alloy frame model on dealer floors. The frame simon has used is a 2009 kxf250 frame.. Not sure how much better the kx250 would of been with alloy frame, but i would think it would be lighter and flex more. They weren't known to be the best 250 out there from 03 to 07/8 or whenever they stopped them.

All the same it is a very nice bike  :) its good to see blokes like Simon building what the factories should have built. MX needs real bikes ie 2 strokes, for all there supposed technology those modern 4 stroke shitters will be the death of the sport  ::)

I think its great they are keeping the 2 strokes alive and its handy for the valve muncher riders who need new complete engines so win win for everyone! MPS do the same coversion for the RM250

Zorroz, does that model RM have Kawasaki Heavy Industries Japan stamped on the head stem/main frame area.  ???

Cause our 06 model does. It's great  8)  cause the Kawasaki shop is 30 minutes away and parts are interchangeable.

Thats a 450 rmz rolling chassis, and they weren't the same as Kawy from memory..
The RMZ250 06 is the same as 04-05 kxf250. The 06 kxf250 was a new kawy only bike.

Two strokes in general are considered dinosaurs, so he is keeping the dream alive! Long live the two stroke!
Looks like an excuse to show mine.
I had a guy ask me if it was an '86 model!

I am not so familiar with classics , is that 85 or 86 ?

Modern classic , 86 replica.
