Title: Noel Clarke Auction - SIGNED One Moment In Time poster set
Post by: vmx42 on October 15, 2009, 01:15:44 pm
Hi Guys,
GMCs auction post inspired me to put up some very limited edition prints [only 3 sets in existence and I can assure you no more will ever be printed] for auction to benefit the Noel Clarke fund.
Same deal as Geoffs post. This is a simple auction with the starting price of $1.00.

You are bidding on a set of 5 - One Moment In Time Posters. These have been printed using the artwork from the VMX issues where the images appeared. They have been printed on a digital offset press on 300gsm white artboard. They are A3 in size and each print has been personally signed by the rider featured - Marty Smith, Malcolm Smith, Brad Lackey, Tony Distefano and Jim Weinert.

The auction is for the complete set of 5 prints. I won't be splitting them up [unless it makes more money for the fund]. Postage included.

The auction will finish on Thursday November 12, 2009.

Every cent raised will go directly to the Noel Clarke Benefit.

Damn you Tony... You could have at least let me put in a bid I could afford, to feel like I was in with a chance... ;)

Back to counting my pennies to see if I can outbid you!  :)

Don't worry Nathan,
I will have some more limited edition poster prints [not One Moment series] and  2 x very rare World Champions jerseys to put up later today or tomorrow.

And Tony you can use 2 smiley faces with a generous bid like that!  ;D  ;D

If it means getting more money for the cause, I'm happy to let others bid on individual posters. (Other than the one of The Jammer  :D :D) That's the one I want most of all and will pay at least $300.00 for that one on it's own.
But only if it means getting more than $500.00 in total.  ;D
Otherwise, my original bid stands.

Whoa fellas. Let's get some sort of order here. This is truly amazing and humbling but we're running the risk of over shadowing each others auctions by crowding the market. Let's not forget Dave Tanners PLB and DJs VMX sign auctions. I'm not sure how to go about this but we need to get some sort of order in place before it all falls down in a mess. We need to raise as much money as we can but by loading too many auctions at once we run the risk over exposure. I've got two other items that I need to load but it's a bit busy right now. Can we back off for a while until the current auctions have met their natural end please guys?

Firko,
I think I agree, but so long as the auction items are 'all very different' I am not sure that we are treading on anybodies toes. Not everybody needs a new pipe or PLB at the moment. I was only hoping to involve the VMXers who won't be able to attend the Show n Shine and hopefully let the 1200 OzVMXers drive the prices up.

So long as it is not doubling up on another auction is that really a problem? I will do whatever you decide, this is your baby afterall.
Thanks
Jeff

Jeff I was getting worried that more and more auctions would all of a sudden turn the forum into our own little eBay. You had your three auctions then there was GMC's pipe, Daves PLB and DJs sign all vying for our dollars. On to of that Paul kindly donated a signed Roger D Jersey and two other donors have sent me items that they wanted put up as well. What's up at the moment is fine, but any more may overload the system, especially if two of the forthcoming items are very similar. Then we have the speakers that Mark has kindly donated.

Don't get me wrong this is great fun...shit, I'm even bidding and I'm the fundraiser!  Having said that I want as much moolah as possible and figure spreading it out a bit might be less crowded and confusing. I don't want to see less popular items brushed aside because something shinier comes along. We want to raise as much money as we can for every item

That's my 2 bobs worth but what do I know about these things?

Brad Lackey contacted me today and he told me that he's going to a Tony D benefit later in the month where all of the old pros will be attending and will get as much stuff including the number plates donated by Basil autographed by the guys. Super Hunky, Bob Hannah, Neil Hudson, Graeme Noyce and Harry Everts have also promised to sign Basils number plates as well as donating other stuff. We did have a committment from Shane Watts but he'd having his own spinal problems after a crash during one of his riding schools a week or so ago. I get the warm fuzzies when the big guys support a little guy they've never heard of. I guess it's a brotherhood thing.

that may not be entirely out of the realms of possibilities Tony but only on the condition this 'One Moment In Time Posters' auction tops $500 ;)

hope I'm not promising on things I can't deliver but it's a very very good chance I can if I bribe a few people ;D again ::)

Ah Tony,
We gotta talk… [but I won't do it again  ;D]
VMX42

Alison, Who am I?
That is a good question?
In this instance I am just a very average VMXer who has a small collection of stuff that I thought others might like to bid for to benefit somebody else. If it helps then all is good.

Tony (Mr T) said he only wants the Jammer and he's already bid $501 so you guys are gonna have to match that!

Title: Re: Noel Clarke Auction - SIGNED One Moment In Time poster set
Post by: TT on November 01, 2009, 09:43:30 pm
Here's the deal.........
Now that we have another couple takers, my bid of $501.00 stands but it is now just for the poster of The Jammer.
Shoey bids $200.00 for Malcolm Smith.
suzuki27 bids $200.00 for Tony D and that leaves 2 posters without bids on them.  ;D
So at the very least, we've raised $901.00 for the set.............. so far.................  ;)

Ok, I'll kick in $50.00 for Brad Lackey and another $50.00 for Marty Smith.
That makes it $1001.00 for the set!
But I'm sure someone can outbid me for Brad and Marty though.......................  ;)

Hey VMX 42, have you got Tony on commision? He's bidding against himself & it's infectious.

I bid $100.00 for Marty Smith

I assume that's the one on the left?
I tried to zoom in but its all a bit fuzzy, hope the real things not that fuzzy :o ;D ;D

Yeah, well.............. you see it's like this.............  :-\
Once Shoey and suzuki27 kicked in, I realised that we could get the total for this set over $1k, so I bid another 100 bucks while seriously hoping that someone would outbid me.  ;)

just an inane question - this auction seems to have been hijacked a little (for the better I think) but is VMX42 happy that now we have seemingly split the lot?????

In his first post he says that he won't split them unless it makes more money for the fund.
I'd have to say that we've met that critera.  ;D

In all honesty, I would have loved to keep them together and own the whole set, but we've more than doubled the money by splitting them.
So I thought it was good idea.
But if anyone else disagrees, please let me know.

Whats the score with this and the other outstanding auction items? There's more to put up yet but it's getting a tad confusing with these unfinished auctions. Can someone let me know what the status is please?

Fair enough. I reckon it's time to wrap this one up, too.
I've bid $501.00 for Jimmy Weinert and $50.00 for Brad Lackey.
shoey bids $200.00 for Malcolm Smith.
suzuki27 bids $200.00 for Tony D.
Rossvickicampbell bids $150.00 for Marty Smith.

Total $1101.00 for the cause.
Are you happy with that, Jeff?

Sorry Firko,
Two questions… I originally stated that the auction would run till 12/11/09, but if you want to finish it early then that is fine by me.
Many, many thanks to all who participated, I will PM each of you in the next day or so to ensure that your payments go directly to the auction account. As soon as Firko confirms the deposits I will carefully pack and dispatch your posters.

What is happening with the outstanding auction items - well they are waiting to finish. Almost there… but hopefully there will be a flood of late buyers.

Not trying to confuse anybody.
thanks again,
VMX42

Geoff,
As a man whos shed [and possibly bedroom window?] looks out over a paddock full of sheep you really should know better than to make 'mounting' jokes with others…  ;D

The electric fence around the paddocks is not to keep the sheep in, but to keep me out :o
