Breaking news on the VMXWA website 5 time british Champion, Bryan Wade confirmed attending the 15th Anniversary.  Are you certain you guys over east don't want to come over and race some really quality overseas riders
Title: Re: VMXWA 15th Anniversary
Post by: GD66 on June 27, 2010, 11:59:14 pm
Bryan Wade joins Vic Allan and his brother Jim : Andy Roberton unfortunately pulled out a while ago. Kiwi star Peter Ploen has confirmed subject to his complex work situation, sadly TM Bill has been unable to attend this time. Colin Metcher, John Silva, Shane Fatboy Fraser and Tony Cavell are in. Final details on the list of South African riders are on the vmxwa website. And all long term members of the club are being contacted to turn out and join us to celebrate the 15th Anniversary. Should be a ripper !  ;)

It's only just begun.  you haven't seen his zipper riding top.   A top with a variety of zippers you can undo to allow more air in.  problem is he has to stop three times each lap to undo another zipper as he is overheating!!!  Didn't that happen to his CR as well!!!.  think I might put an electric fence around my sleeping area!!!lol

Ok. The decision has been made. Myself and 1 other mexican are comming to WA for the 15th anniversary. Should be a ripper of a week. This is just a heads up for anybody from Vic or SA that might be interested in going but cant find a cheap way to get the bike(s) over the otherside. I have room for 6 bikes and 1 passenger in the truck. First in, best dressed for the seat in the truck. Bribes will be accepted!!! Everything I carry is fully insured. Any body interested should IM me here or call me 0418 146857.

Sorry to read you cant make it this year Walter. The short notice was due partly to injuries and me not knowing if I was up for it or not and having commitment phobia....I cant wait to get over to ride another awesome natural terrain track . Saturday night sounds like it will be a ripper too. If im in your area during business hours I`ll drop in and have a cuppa. By the sound of things, no one has any idea where the next titles are being held so that booking might be premature.....

less than a fortnight to go.  We had approx 115 riders at Wandering and there are more to arrive from UK and South Africe, not counting eastern states, looks like it'll be big

I reckon ! Vic Allan and Rob Wicks were getting into it at Wandering, factor in Bryan Wade on the Husky and now Peter Ploen's definitely comfirmed, add a mob of keen locals and it's starting to look awfully like a RIPPER !   :o

The count down has begun,,,officially now that theres less than twentyfour hours before Gary and I are loaded and driving west,  just over 3000k's to Narrogin.
The bikes are right. Truck serviced. All I have to do is load the truck.....and wait for Gary no doubt.
I can't wait to get over there and meet some of you "westies"...hopefully i'll get to throw some sand at at least a couple of you, hopefully whoever is wearing the helmet cam Fatboy so there's no disputing that i was in front of least 1 person....
Be bloody good to get out of this bog hole called victoria too....christ its wet at the momment. I'm looking forward to riding somewhere with traction. I dont know how you got your yard done Shane, obviously not as wet in Tas. I get bogged tryin to walk in my yard so the weeds are just gonna have to wait. Im outa here...... well nearly. Don't drive at night ! The straights are too long, the beaned-up truckies think it's good comedy to dazzle you from 2 miles away, and you can't see what's between you and them.... too dodgy ! Also, as bad as the food is along the way, it's usually worth stopping at Balladonia for a bite... ;)

what an absolutely brilliant weekend of racing, all except for my last race when i decided I'd let a CZ use my back as a launching rap, mine own fault fell off in front of him when having a great tussle.  Very sore this morning.  I'd like to thank Mark Hill (Vic) for helping undress me as his hands are so soft!!lol

was a brilliant weekend with slow moving targets like South Africans and Victorians whilst having a beer, they were a great crowd, hope they come out again.

bruised ribs, bruised kidneys, bruised muscles in the back with nerve damage, only a mere flesh wound.

Christine sold my bike three times after the accident!!lol

Alison as usual was a Legend

Steve, Nick and Frank, what a job they did on the track, was absolutley brilliant.  Great credit to the club, i hope everyone had as much fun as I did

Christine (Feral photographer) has taken heaps of photo's so anybody want any just send your number we'll find them, no coast as usual

Good pix Tossa, thanks to the bride. The ambos had to test poor old Tossa after his big getoff, shining a light in his eyes etc checking for concussion, as he was laughing and babbling incoherently....we had to patiently explain to them that he's always like that.... ;)

Tossa....you are a tossa, no two ways about about it. Was great to meet you but I think I`ll wear gloves next time I get to shake your hand and laugh at you in pain. I've got this weird rash growing up my arms........????? Maybe next time you might be up for 8 races a day and then the finals, instead of hangin around waving a flag and layin on the track wasting time!

To all the crew from WAVMX, thanks for a great 4 days. The organisation of the event could not have been better and I know that memmories of such an awesome venue and a great bunch of people will remain until I (we) get back there for the 20th. The track was absolutely pristine and I can only imagine the hours put in. Well done to all those involved with the running of a top event. Those that didn't get over there this year may well have missed out on some of the best riding on the vintage calender. Roll on the 20th anniversary. I have a feeling it will be even bigger.

A huge thank you to All the volunteers who hang around and help us lot have all the fun.

It would be great to see a few of you blokes and bloketts come over and have a go at what i think is one of the best natural terrain tracks in Aus, Harrow. Im sure much fun could be had. I heard a rumour that a queens birthday long weekend may be on. Keep an eye on www.classicscamble.org.au

Excellent photo's Christine...At least one you has talent!

Cheers

Yeah, the people wavin flags keep it all happening all right. Without them, our sport would be hard to keep going. Not so sure about the people laying down on the track though.....

We got back on Thursday night, spent friday pulling my B50 to bits after finding I had cracked the seat base which dislodged the airfilter. Seems I managed to sneek some of Narrogin across the border inside my motor. Ahh the joys!

It was a great time, both on the wheels and around the fire. Im sure we will meet up again, sometime in the not too distant future I hope.

Thanks for the good clean racing Steve, which is more than I can say for my team mate!

Cheers
Mark

Yeah, someone has to hold the torch for us mexicans mate.....lucky i did stay up so late (2 hours more than you according to the clock!) otherwise I would have ridden even slower..... Still, the whole shebang was top stuff and I had a ball followin most of the A grade around and only had 3 DNF's and 1 late start  ::) Not bad considering I did more laps on Friday practice than I had since Connondale Nats  ;D

I will take you up on the offer of more pics. Email on the way!

Hope your'e on the mend and not whingin anymore. God knows Christine would have had enough by now.

Cheers
