A few weeks ago I was invited by the Logan River Motorcycle Trials Club To participate in a free Come and Try Day.
Always eager to ride anything with two wheels I booked my 14 year old son Jimmy Sparks and myself in. I told my brother and good friend Ron about the day and they too booked in.

On Sunday we were given a brief history about trials and how the competition works.
Then we selected one of their very generous club members bikes and were shown the basics. For the next 15 minutes we were allowed to ride the bikes in figure 8s to get a feel for the clutches.

Then it was time to walk a section of a gully that we were going to ride. Our instructor Boyd (I think) was fantastic. Then one by one we all took a deep breath and stepped onto our bikes.

At the end of two gully sections we were all very happy we were given this great opportunity.
Thanks to the club members of the Logan River Motorcycle Trials Club, we all had a great time.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, those things have some serious compression & you don't want to be on the other end of a kickback
I'm doing things the other way round, have ridden trials for years & about to start using the cz a bit more seriously

Way to go Tony.
The modern trials bike is very quiet, it has great brakes, an engine that will run up a tree and only weighs 70kgs.
Pulling a wheelstand is childs play.
The only bad thing is that you have to feather the clutch the whole time.

Good fun and what a workout I was out of breath with heart racing each time I went through a section.

He would pop it into a wheelstand and then pogo on the rear wheel until he was facing the direction he wanted to go.
