Like the title says works 250 RH Suzuki on Perth gumtree listed half hour ago I can check out if interested regards martin

The tank appears perfect. The forks are rusty. Doesn't make sense to me.

That's the one :) ..lots of corresponding with DT on this day we went and looked at it.
after all the phone calls and all the info to Chris, he's finally put it up after 3 years of us trying to get it :P
Oh well he got the info he wanted from us and now its 6000 smackers.

No they threw them in the skip out the back @ Mortlock's* in Perth when RM and co hit the market.
Not unlike a deceased artist. Worth little $ till now.
What had me amazed is the sand casings on it - true bits. Now I look for sandcasing on every pre78 bike ;D

is it worth 6000. also did that bike come from geelong, as Peter duet sold his 75 model. or is it the one that Andy caldecott had a few years back. whats the history behind it. does anybody know.

The seller and his mate brought them new years back and his mate passed away in his 50's ,so the wife has stored it in the shed out back. All very sad.

The one I rode (1974 model) was damn fast, would eat an Elsinore for breakfast.

The 74 RH weighed nothing and was as fast as mid 80's RM The only thing that didn't impress was the front brake. Is for sure the most competitive bike you can legally use in pre 75.
There is allot missing on that bike and it's priced about half of what a restored would bring these days. I hope it finds a home that loves it. Are you going to try and buy it VMX247?

Ok Easiest why to tell if it is an RH (no need to call it a 250) is if the gear shift shaft also comes out on the right hand side to fit right side gear shift, it is an RH.
The bike shown is an 1975 model so not legal for Pre 75. John Kittle has got one now too.
How do I know these things? I had one in 1975. Two came into Queensland in first shipment and then another 5 or so came in a few months later.
The bike was similar to the earlier YZs limited production based on the works bike. They are not very rare. Also they were not available in the US.
The motor was stronger than the RM 250 A the next year, but the rest of the bike not as good.
If it was restored in good condition maybe it would be worth the money, but not in the state it is in. Also has it got the original wheels etc.

Notice the gear shaft also coming out on the right hand side. The side covers are missing to but the stand they came with is still with it. My exhaust pipe got flatten very quickly I turned it into an up pipe.

This bike is a 74 with the frame modified for laid down shocks.. it's different to a 75.

Perhaps the one in the add is a 74 with the updated rear end. I understand the last of the 74's were modified via a factory specced upgrade.
If what I heard was right the NZ ones were modded by Steve Roberts.

The one in the ad is a 75, I can tell by the frame and the air box.

Swing arm pivot is the obvious L to M difference

Yeah the L has roller bearings in the frame the same as the bike here with the 74 L tank and modified rear suspension

just googled [ivan miller rh250 nz] & the same pic came up in a closed forum here on ozvmx from 2011 headed Suzuki RH250--exactly the same pic, background etc. Not sure what that means except interesting!! unless i'm confused [more than usual].
Talking modded RH's, I was at a Christmas MX at Whakatane [nz] in "74--well i think "74 because i was on a CR250 Elsinore & had an MX250B in "75. Anyhoo, Ivan's bike arrived 'that day' with the Steve Roberts [i suppose factory 'type'] mod with the gas charged KYB's & bloodywell psyched us right out. Mind you he normally lapped us but just mean't he double lapped us lol. Think at the time someone recond the travel was more than the ground clearance for the pipe but he was mostly off the ground & sideways. Think i'm right in all this but was a long time ago & distinctly remember going F!@#$$%k, may as well go home.

found this suzuki add with Ivan on possibly an RH? or a 125. Wouldn't copy & paste so hope it'll work just dragging it up top or whatever you do. Just for a laugh i typed Honda in the search bar of the page [top right] & wasn't laughing when the add i did for Honda on the Elsinore came up--looks sooo tame [or lame lol].

I remember the add Morley, never new knew the song was done by Spilt Endz.....learn something every day. We just had the Aussie Road Race historic championship meeting on the weekend in Brisbane, there was a Kiwi T500 Titan that had "Colemans" on it as well as Lawton & Boyle and Steve Roberts. He must be bloody old now, make you feel young. Ginger Malloy was over as well. Hows old bloody Ian James going?, he's hording some cool bikes. Those Suzuki's of Miller, Ploen and Co smashed everyone back then, who was the guy in Palmy [Suzuki/Yamaha shop] who had an RH as well?

The guy in Palmy would have been Phil Turnbull, Paul Doecke mentioned being team mates with Phil & Paul admits highly modifying his. Still has the factory stand which gets used under the CZ nowadays.
By chance I'm off to see Steve Roberts tomorrow to collect my tank that he had just put back together after removing the dents, have been told it's like new

I worked with a bloke who rode an RH for a NZ Suzuki dealer years ago...cant remember his name ...lives near taupo, just did up an 84 rm for vmx.

I'm not suprised this has turned up here in WA..there were, by comparison, quite a lot of RH and RN's here in WA.. Mortlocks, who were the Suzuki dealer had nearly all of their workshop staff and the sales guys riding them..not certain, but I recall about 5/6 RH's and 3 RN's getting around.. both 74's and 75's...

That is quite a famous little bike, built by Jon Allnatt (ex-Geoff Perry mechanic) and ridden by Pat Hennen in 1972 and '73. More or less a 500 in a 250-sized Roberts chassis. When originally built it had sexy gold mag wheels. Great to see Peter O'Neill giving it a damn good thrashing instead of hiding it in a shed, he said it is easily the most enjoyable bike he's ever ridden.

80-85 Husky Taupo rider would have been Pete Lockwood.

No Neil somebody....I for the life of me cannot remember his last name...it will surface at some point.....he lives at Taupo now Christ knows where he raced back then...he gave me a couple of his old Suzuki racing jumpers as they wont fit him now ;D

Might be wrong but think Peter Lockwood was a bit young for RH's, remember him on later RM370's--250's. Think Peter came from a farm up the other side of the lake [other side from where i'm coming from]--in my AP5 with bell housing bolts undoing & pulling it out of top gear, plus a breather the size of the filler cap on the rocker box & big pipe heading down to the rear bumper. Got pulled up one night with the guy saying "you're loosing heaps of water", but no, was just the grey smoke & fumes rolling out the back. Good old AP5. Sorry--woffling about nothing again. Don't know that Phil Turnbull had an RH as such as was mainly a 125 rider [albeit bloody fast] but do recal him riding an RN of Colemans [Ex Ivan] at a TT at Fordell near Wanganui, because i had the bosses SC500 which was a good TT machine that day. Never leaned ours off [the SC] & never missed a beat but can remember one or maybe two paying the price that day for trying to clean up the midrange. Cheers OTH. ps, i'll ask Phil sometime re the RH.

I'm sure Phil had one [RH], I think TM Bill knows where that went. Paul ockie Doecke showed me the blueprints/plans on how to turn a TM400 frame into an RN? a few years ago, he was a master craftsman like Steve Roberts. They built all sorts of contraptions back then.

Bill O`Brien was also a sponsored rider from the 70`s and he was from N.Z Bill raced along side Ivan miller, Peter Pleon, not sure if he rode suzuki, he shifted to Colac Victoria years ago
I believe he still there was a member of the colac m/cycle club where I was there. very nice fellow and a very rider.

Can someone tell me what a restored YZ250B would be worth?
These RH75s were the Suzuki equivalent of the Yamaha. I had one in 1975, I think I paid about $1,500.00 for it. My bike was one of two in the first shipment into Queensland, the next shipment had about 5 more RH75s in it

Dam!!!!! Did I ever tell you I saw one (RH75) for sale at Kippa-Ring several years ago, probably in about 1985 or so. It was on Anzac avenue. Anyway the guy wanted $600.00 for it, I think he thought it was a TM. I didn't have the money available at that time. Anyway I think Geoff bought it. I sold him the stand from mine a little while later.

there is a guy who races with the heaven blokes used to be sponcered on one back in the day he still has parts of it being rebuilt in his shed
great bloke has a fix for cr250m gearboxes as well.he did mine years ago.
