I sold my pe400 for just over $2000 a couple years ago, had full mechanical rebuild but nothing cosmetic, no road gear either.

Sounds not to bad but I have heard that complete original one owner line a lot and its turned out to be no where near that most times.

I don't know much about these, I have not ridden one.
I had three PE175s as a youngen, reliable, easy to throw around but awful of the pace if they dropped below  20grand rpm.

One reason why I am interested in the one is because I have a complete motor in storage and a new standard bore cylinder with a complete NOS std Suzuki piston set, that I picked up in a deceased estate some years back.

I have a complianced frame if you want the beginnings of a big project.

Logged in the memory bank, thanks Michael.

Complete? Wheres the blinkers, battery & horn?
Price seems fair to me but if its got cracked rims at the welds and cracks along the front of the swingarm pivot, try and get it for less.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

He is the Nephew of a very trusted and close friend.

I feel he has been honest with me.

He says he bike was running well when he stopped riding and parked it in the garage in 1992.
He has all the original paper work, owners manual tools, blinkers etc. etc.
He is the original owner.

I wasn't going to buy anymore bikes, but,,,,,,,,,
Is it worth two grand in that state?

Thanks, I will check all those things. It may have a crack in the right side rear rim by the look of it.
He said the blinkers are still in new condition, but cannot find the battery box.

I still have all the battery boxes from my PE175s and DR500s stored.

As Leith says check the swing arm and rims for cracks

being a plastic tank check it for signs of being brittle.

Its a big bore two smoker  in reasonable condition so its got to be worth that much, id buy it for 2G if it checked out.

Final price can only be made after its been checked out.

;D ;D ;D Ummmmm, I am starting to think that way too.
I see a lot of good things in the pics, like never thrown a chain.
No rust on the forks etc.
It may be possible to give it a really thorough service etc and keep it original.
Although I imagine a new set of shocks will be needed straight up.
What about you Frosty? what did you do for shocks on yours?
