Would be good to see Australians adopting social distancing and other rules lot quicker than they do and be more considerate to "flatten the curve". Went to shop the other day and apart from seeing empty shells there was a mum with four children roaming around half empty supermarket. Do you really need a whole family to go and get milk and bread? Talked to my friend in Slovakia and she said that you will not be allowed  in supermarket unles you are wearing facemask. Other than that shops are well stocked, you can buy as much as you need. Schools been closed for 3 weeks now. Only around 300 people infected. Big manufacturers such as VW, Peugeot/Citroen, Land Rover/Jaguar, Kia etc have closed their plants for now. Employers pay you 60% of your average pay to stay home. Very little casual employment there. Here we are arguing about when we are going to close schools. A bit sad.

Tech Talk / Re: Bearing grades
« on: February 13, 2020, 04:06:34 PM »
in most of cases discussed here (shaft diameter let say between 10 to 40mm)difference between standard and c3 bearing would be somewhere around 0.01mm. for example standard  bearing xxxx has a clearance 0.005mm than same size bearing xxxc3 has a clearance around 0.015mm. Not a lot but as mentioned earlier it may help when things are pressed together and heat up. It would be quite hard to remove 0.005 from inner and outer bearing race to increase clearance by 0.01 to convert standard bearing to c3,c4 bearing. would have to split cage etc.

would say that 0.01mm extra clearance does not make much of a difference but I guess it may help. When motor heats up everything expands not just inner or outer bearing race. Pulled apart some Jawa and CZ motors and only had standard bearings. Also got some genuine Suzuki crank bearings but no c3 stamped on them just part number. And also got some genuine Koyo bearings. C3 printed on sealed box and after unpacking and checking whats stamped on bearing, there was no c3 just bearing size and made in japan. Suzuki owners manual recommends replacing all bearings with genuine Suzuki ones :P

FYI. No matter where in the world your sending it from, Auspost/Startrack, will be the ones delivering it within Australia  unless you organise your own courier service. Most of the international courier companies ship small items to Auspost for final delivery. If you have tracking which 98% of packages do have, it can be traced  and proof of delivery(signature or photo evidence is available if selected) if it does go missing in Australia compensation can be paid. if compensation isnt offered at a guess the item has been delivered  but gone missing from that delivery point(stolen) or incorrectly addressed or. No proof of lodgement thus not a fault of Auspost.

Express post satchel $12, Trackable and next day delivery or two days if out of major regional areas.
Signature on delivery $2.95

Remember you will need to be present at the address with adequate safe access for the delivery to be signed for, or it will be taken to a Post office and a card with pick up advice left at your front door or mailbox.

Just get it from MikuniOZ
I can get parts shipped to my dad's address in Slovakia and pick them up when visiting him. No parts left in drive ways and carpark there.
Yes. I have tracking. It says delivered. But nobody can tell me who deliver it an where it was left. I am happy to pick up parcels from post office. I does not bother me. But since startrack started delivering mail I have seen parcels just tossed in a car park and left in front of storage rooms that every unit here has(not a safe place to leave a parcel). Most of delivery drivers can barely read speak or write English. I always leave a note for sender that I signature is required. Not sure who decides where the parcel is left. Its ok when you living in house but block of units is a diferent thing.
When I called post office and asked for compensation I was told that it is only up to 50 dollars for those deliveries. Well that's not even enough to pay for another part and have to pay shipping again. Could have two for that money. I know that Mikuni Oz is a great shop and have lots of parts in stock and ready for delivery but having a shit postal services does not help anybody. Just my experience wit Auspost

Hello
Can anyone recommend Mikuni carburettor part supplier. Preferably EU,UK or US supplier. I know that Mikuni OZ is a great supplier but Auspost/StarTrack just keep loosing parcels and will not compensate for lost items. Just sick of using Auspost.
Thank you for your help

Did a 125N set a while ago. Used ohlins seal heads and 12 mm CrMo hardchromed shafts + ohlins  rod ends 10mm longer than original. You will loose about 10mm of stroke. I also cut the reservoirs open and made aluminium caps with a valve.
Or you can just change oil and keep them original. I am using 5w and they work fine for my riding  :)

Tech Talk / Re: Suzuki PE250B needle jet series

Just check the overall length and compare with web site. 159 will only fit VM 30,32,34 and 36 according to Mikuni OZ web site.
Also you can google "mikuni needle jet chart" for sizes. Q-2 is only 0.01mm bigger than Q-0. Not sure if changing back to Q-0 will make a lot of difference.

I would say BP would run hotter than B in the same engine. Two are designed for different applications.

« on: December 04, 2018, 03:01:38 PM »
would this be type of a carburettor that is used on brush cutters/chainsaws? of course this one uses flat slide and does not have membrane pump(gravity fed) but only two adjustment screws just like some chainsaws/brush cutters. one on top would be ritch/lean and the other one is idle adjustment. Am I right?

There is too much politics and too many rules involved in this recreational sport in good old Stralia. Had my 2 bikes shipped back to Slovakia and get to ride them more there even only spending 2-3 months there every year. Have a 70ties style dirt track just 10 minute ride from where we live. Its always open and entry is free. I can ride there whenever I feel like it  :) :P
