Facebook or Ozvmx Forum?
« on: June 19, 2018, 12:41:35 PM »
l don't know about you guys but l think l've had enough of Facebook, if everyone stayed here and the event calendars are kept complete & up-to-date, l wouldn't really need much more.

There is enough news from various websites; my list that keeps me up-to-date ....

motocrossactionmag.com
vitalmx.com
mx43.com
cyclenews.com
roadracingworld.com

What am l missing from my list?

I reckon the postings here would triple with easy photo uploads.
If you love it, lube it.

Agreed, I guess it might mean a small contribution to allow it?

The Norton forum I'm on does that as does the BSA B50 group. Premium membership or similar for $15 a year.
Both have small readership but more posts.

posting of pics and difficulty,  plus negative attitudes are why most of us left.

Forum is my preferred info gathering area . I too found the bitching got on my nerves a while back and dropped out for quite a time , glad it seems to have died away . I find the knowledge on here is broader with less of the "what bike have I got bro's "type of questions or how can I get my 1977 xyz to go quick what sort of power band should I get ?

Yep. It is  an archived resource that people from all over the world access. Face book is useless for all practical purposes after a month or two, and that's on the off chance something was discussed in depth.

i am on cafe husky and the same issue is popping up there. i like the husky facebook page but the main man is overkeen and im starting to get sick of the 5 posts a day that pop up a "look"message. >:(

on the + side the moto villa group found me a new set of gears :D How good is that

the cafe forum is still pretty strong with good knowledge flowing around for older hoosks.

this forum is great for all brands and thats its real appeal i rekon. Ill leave facebook for the "look what im having for lunch" set ::)

I cant “get on” with Facebook.
“Simon has changed his status to ‘Aghast’ “

I check “What’s new/unread posts” on my favorite forums. OzVMX, Supermoto Junkie, Vital MX, Aprilia Tuono, for eg.
I used to frequent Thumpertalk, but they changed the format and radically increased the adverts. I see none of the adverts now.

SMJ and Vital are “free” (paid for by adverts?), and you can upload pics on both direct.

Ransom Bucket claim to have “reinstated” my photos are are offering much reduced rates. They could go back to free and they would still get the same response from me. (Involving a suggestion of sex and travel)

I like the forum,
Its more organized. The facebook page seems to be all over the place and hard to track updates and follow what projects people are on. Hope the forum stays open,
Cheers,

Facebook is fast and emotions are faster than words..like buttons and smiling faces, plus all the other jazz it brings..I think both formats are good for what they do and bring..Its all about control and information right..?

Straight to the forum for imformation or serious questions and answers. If only it was easier to post pictures on here.
I have better luck buying and selling on facebook though. You just have to ignore the dum dums.
