Ftting a early tank to a RM400c??
« on: March 19, 2018, 09:40:13 AM »
Iv got a 78 RM400c plastic tank model. I want to retrofit a early alloy or steel tank, 125c? Has anyone got any ideas if it is a similar fit? Iv also heard a cheaper option is a TS tank?  8)

yes RM125B 1977 tank will fit but will have to fiddle with rear mount strap B model strap may fit (RM125C is a plastic tank not disimular to the RM400C tank only a tinge smaller) be prepared to pay good money for the Alloy B model tank
don't think ts will fit well any who it would look like shit and youll scold your nut with fuel from the flip top cap job!

haha..maybe ill scrap the TS idea. Thanks mate, yeah  think the 125c tank would (almost) be a bolt on. I just want to trim her down a bit and it would be nice to have a alloy then I can paint it !

I think hes talking about the TS185ER tank (triangle RM shaped one). Yes it should fit and would look good. Seen people use them on 79-80 RM's and even Full Floaters. They have plastic screw on cap. capacity is 7L. TS250 is slightly larger and 10L
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

The 400c tank is very similar in shape to the TS/ER tank anyway so it would not look that strange. Would be different if you were putting it on a 370 A/B though.
