Hi from Cold AF Canberra
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:24:49 AM »
Hi all :)

my names Zoe, as clearly i am new on here, so i just wanna introduce myself and my bikes!

So ive been riding for 15 years, i started off on dirt bikes and then over the last few years got into road bikes aswell.
i mainly ride with my dad and his mates as i they're great people to ride with and don't care what level your at or what bike your on as long as your having fun nothing else matters.

So between my dad and i we have 15 bikes hahaha

but we recently have started getting into some more vmx bikes as we would like to start going to some vmx meets and etc.

one of our latest additions is a 1984 CR125, it needs alot of TLC though, the problem is for some reason that year model is hard to get parts for, like getting a service manual for it is proving difficult and i cant for the life of me seem to find any foot pegs to fit it, not even after market ones, and the ones on it are shot to pieces.

So any help would be great :)

Welcome to the asylum.

My tip is to post things in the appropriate section, with as many clues as possible in the title.
Like you have with your introduction.  :)

So maybe go to "tech talk", "wanted" or "Honda" and start a post "wanted, foot pegs for '84 CR125".

The combined knowledge on this site is awesome, and someone will know some options for you.
Bear in mind, many of these readers are basically unaware that motorcycles were manufactured after 1979  ;)

Or start a thread on the restoration of your CR, and ask questions on there, while rewards the helpers with pics and progress reports.

Have a great day.

cool cheers for the advise :)
i will post some stuff in some of the other sections shortly :)
and yeah haha we haven't got any pre 1979 yet, but the collection is always growing haha for some reason we have about 5 of the 15 bikes we have are 1981 model bikes of various makes and models, and it wasn't intended at all hahaha

I have a 1981 RM125X, again. Had one in 1981. A common theme I think you'll find.
I think I'll buy a 1981 YZ465H as well.

Nothing wrong with 1981!

Heaven VMX have a meeting next weekend 3/4 June at Bathurst track which is not a million miles from Canberra. Come and have a look and there are several '84 CR125s in the club and a heap of Honda specialists who I am sure will be able to point you in the right direction. The '84 CR125 is not known as the most difficult model to source parts but it is always a little difficult on your first VMX resto.

Have a look here

or search on facebook

The VTR club are also a great group of old dirt bike die-hards with heaps of knowledge and support.

Well that is a really good excuse for missing the Bathurst meeting hope the trip goes well. Dargle in August or even Lakes near Toronto later in June.
