WR240LC 1985 Twin shock worth rebuilding?
« on: May 13, 2017, 01:57:29 PM »
I purchased a basket case WR240 liquid cooled 1985 twin shock but its missing ITC shocks, muffler and various other bits. Most of the major parts are there:
frame, swingarm
wheels, seat, tank
most plastics (old and rooted)
radiators and pipe (needs repairs).

Forks will need rechrome and the engine turns over (but will prob need a rebuild).

Since it will need lots of work I'm just seeking opinions of this model if its worth the $$$ and effort? Cheers

If you junk it I would but the back wheel for $100.
Around 2k should bring it back, unusual model that only went for 6 months.
Complete plastics from DC around $350
You can get ITC shocks on Ebay or new Gazi for $750
If you do the motor yourself around $500 if the ignition works another $400 if it doesn't.
Just odd bits will build up like brake shoes tires cables etc.
Should be worth 4 to 5k when its done.

Sorry to disappoint everyone but if I don't rebuild it I'll need the spares off it for my other bike.
