I have a trophy in my study from my XR75 days (Honda Jnr Moto X Championships Round 1,  1978).  I think that was the last time we rode at Wallan before it was closed down.

Thanks Kev, I think I might use the second photo of Derrim doing the cross up as my screen saver, great photo. Must have read that T&T article heaps over the years haha. Hay Kev one last question to squash all those rumours that someone always reckons they have his race XR ,does Derrim still have his original race XR75???.

I saw down here in Vic was a guy from South Australia( I forgot his name)that had a PK monoshock XR75 with all the hop up goodies on it that was worth a couple of G's back then, very competitive at Wallan against other XR75's but not that good against the YZ80's at Laverton etc.

Just reading the XR75 stuff and I was around racing the XR class in those days. I was from SA and Matt Muirhead was the guy with the meanest XR's I have ever seen. I think that is who the above refers too. His dad was a drag racer and really could make an XR snarl.

when I was  wee lad (little bit different to now) I had a 75 model I think and was "sponsored" by the local Honda shop in Tassie (Lloyd Campbell Honda but no relation).  Anyway they bought hot bits for mine from Bert Kingston in Queensland I think - bit late for the XR though as the YZBs and Cs were coming out and stock they were awesome -  Jeff Ward racing Brian Myerscough in Minibike Racer I think was the magazine - those were the days!

Brother got one of those 77 Red Devil XRs - excellent machine to.

Your spot on dropbear it was Matt Muirhead , his Dad was a PK distributer back then in SA and just by coincidence I was at Broadford over the weekend at the Honda Bonanza and a mate had a couple photos of his PK XR75 in his old race photo album also whilst there I was very fortunate to meet  Ray Owen  the owner of the Old Wallan track, he told me the last race there was in 1979 and he closed it because of the public liability bullshit and one or two neighbors who complained about the noise, damn shame as that was one of the best race tracks in Australia bar none back then for minis and big bore MXers.
