Hope you had a great day Graeme M
« on: April 10, 2016, 06:50:20 PM »
Hope your having a great evening..

You've created many a forum with people from afar. We need to bottle your blood in a jar  :)
You've saved us from each other with a guide to Forum Etiquette, and come quiet close to nearly shutting us down.
You''ve moderate the forums and stood your ground.

Today you'll celebrate and reflect, while still looking after this sect.  :)
Happy Birthday
All the best Alison
Best is in the West !!

Love your work, Alison. I've never met Graeme but apart from being extremely grateful to him for running this forum, his decent and gentlemanly manner of sorting disputes, calming down fevered participants and his reasonable and justified firm locking down of out-of-control threads is just bloody amazing.
Hats off sir, and best wishes.  ;)

Heh, thanks Alison. Yes, another birthday, making it just on 12 birthdays since I began OzVMX. Plenty of water has gone under the bridge since those early days when this forum came into being in the shadow of Ray Ryan's untimely passing. It's been a big job keeping it all on track but it sure has been worth it. Although today I think it's quite a different beast. As is the vintage scene itself.

These days that stupid OzVMX Facebook page demands most of my time, I wish I'd never started that. What the hell is it with all these people who post up a photo of their pride and joy (or piece of crap as the case may be) and ask that searching question of our times:

"What's this worth".

The biggest change for me personally has been the move away from vintage dirt bikes to modern dirt track. I rarely go to a vintage event or ride an old bike, with most of my riding these days aboard my YZ250F dirt tracker.

That, and a complete change in personal philosophy, means that I rarely read much on the forum and simply don't put enough time into managing it. I hope to keep it going for a little while yet, but I suspect it's days are numbered.

But then again, I've said that before and look where we are - still here!

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the photos Dennis. I like that one of you and me at Coopers Gully, that really brings back the memories. Good times alright!

Yes thanks Graeme for the effort we call the OZvmx Forum   8)

The first typing or writing since school, Tech/Tafe etc was here for me,
Everything in RAISED UPPER CASE :o
Then I got some glasses ;D Can now string basic sentences together, I may come second last in a spelling bee these days, but definitely not last any more, thanks to the practice I have had on this site ;D

I great place to read the endeavors and thoughts of some of the great friends i have made in this community,

I hope we all get to do it for a long time to come.
And happy belated Birthday too mate.
"light weight, and it works great"  :)
