Technical Help for Nationals
« on: June 01, 2008, 06:24:57 PM »
Hoping someone can help with this Tech question.

Is a sprocket cover required at the Tassie Nats ???  In Victoria we are not required to run Sprocket Covers.

In the few discussions I've heard on the Nats it's accepted the rule book will be adhered to.
Titles can be won and lost on a protest, so pls check the GCRs and sup regs for an answer to your question.
Don't even think about welding that sprocket if it left the Factory in the riveted condition (that's from another thread in case you're wondering WTF...).

g.c.r. 12.8.8.5

A counter shaft sprocket which is more than 30 mm from the outside of the swingarm pivot must be covered.

Get out the tape.

There's a couple of wankers from WA coming over and if you beat them, your bike had better be100% perfect in every way as they will go out of their way to protest the shit out of you for the tiniest indescretion. They've done it before and they'll do it again.

Whoever they are, I hope they get smoked.  There's nothing worse than idiots protesting things that wouldn't have given any advantage to the so-called perpetrator.

Im going with what i have, its safe, legal and reliable thats all im hoping for, anything else is a bonus, besides you can argue anything is unsafe of illegal right .....

Its about time someone adressed that problem ,it has ruined many races and racers so far. I think MA should shut the wankers   noise down before adressing bike noises. That would perhaps bring a few people back  ;) Races should be won or lost on the track and not through protesting. Shame on you Peter Lawson and Wayne Clark. You have done lots of damage in the past. ( Example Vern Grayson Saga)

Keep an eye on the abovementioned "gentlemen". They tried to bung it on again last year at Coffs but were shut down pretty quickly by the Clerk and Steward.

Thats OK for now Magoo , but what happens when those Gentlemen run the titles in WA again ? Then we are back to square one or worse. ( Last WA titles Mr Lawson lost my entry along with other title ccontenders and refused to take late entries  , as stated by the sup regs. What a smooth operator !!!)
I think this problem should be cured by the roots . I would like to help with MXmaniacs BBQ.  ;D ;D ;D

YEEEEE HAAAAA  ;D ;D ;D.. Does anyone watch UFC?  ;)
We are all out to enjoy this sport, not contaminate it with old germs..
How convenient of them flogs too loose ur entry form YSS..
Just shows they know they were about to be smoked.
Hopefully the titles come to melbourne and I would happily do the entries.. ;)
I havent been to a vmx event where everyone hasnt had a ball, everyone thrives on it, its the passion, the bikes, the fun, the beer and the carpark racin bull shit.. not to mention special BBQ's if needed.
what happens on the track stays on the track, well sometimes.. within reason.
I think 99% of people would agree.
Lets just have fun cos thats what its all about!

Thats the best news i have heard in a long time, can put the cans of woop arse back in the suit case..  ;D

The track report from down south is.. flat as a shit carters hat.. jumps like speed bumps, grassy.. will suit flat track riders to the ground Shaun said, more suited to the older lower to the ground bikes.. unlike the maico 490 giant and most of the pre85 bikes. Said it looks like fun out there and dying to get out there and turn green to brown and get some lines/berms established to plow into 10th gear power band and hold him on the track ha ha
Just had a bigger powerband installed especially for this race :D

If your race is one of the last for the first day,it should be beautifully bermed up by then.
Get those big bikes movin some dirt and it will be a good ride.
Come to think of it 3 wheels would of done the trick. ;) ;D

Spoke to my brother after practice and he reckons the tracks a little tight, the 490 doesnt make it out of 3rd gear. its like single file through a set of S's and a pretty tight first corner. Said the 1st corner is gunna be carnage ;D and to pass u will have to move people aside.. He crashed twice in practice along with many others.. Bit of a bummer its tight when u have the need for speed!!
He reckons it will all be good though, just deal with it, try get a good start and do what ya can.
He said there is a couple quick guys that stand out above the rest in evo.
The track is all ripped up now with loamy berms forming!
