Fantic 125 - What ever became of it?
« on: June 13, 2013, 01:17:59 AM »
I had a ride on this Fantic 125 on this weekend in 1983 - the RTCB round of the Condor Pony Express Series at Boonah..  That's me with my YZ125K waiting for the start.

Anyone know what became of this bike?  And who the rider is too for that matter?  We got talking before the start, and he offered me a ride after the event.  He was a NSW rider.

If anyone knows where it is, it's a bike I'd kinda be interested in getting my hands on.

I have a soft spot for a Euro 125, and I grew up watching "Austrian Enduro" in the Castrol tents at Road Race meetings.  Watching Gualtiero Brissoni throw one of these round in that film left an impression!

I remember it was peaky and had VERY soft suspension.

Smithy's property - now under Lake Wyaralong..   :'(

Thanks, Tony

(PS Noel - found a few more of Dad's negs from back in the day - including these!)

Is that website still current?  It looks like it hasn't been updated since 2011 (site says "UNDER CONSTRUCTION.....last updated 7/4/11")

Anyone got an email address for Jeff David?

Thanks guys - it's always a pleasure to provide the forum with a moment's levity..   ;D

Here I was thinking the Fantic would be the topic of discussion - nice to know I trend higher than the Fantic!   :o
