Redline XL250/350 frame on Marks Swapmeet.
« on: April 14, 2013, 10:51:39 AM »
Quite frankly I reckon this is going for twice what its worth but on the plus side the Redline is arguably the best motocross frame for the early XL motor for pre 75.

Make one?  That is as simple as a frame gets.
If you love it, lube it.

I might if someone could get proper measurements, diameters, thicknesses and angles for me (will pay for time naturally)

This is the picture of what I wanna build :

I am interested to know if anyone knows much of these..

particularly interested to know about things like : air filter tent construction, what fenders he's using, good rear shocks etc..

I will be using XT550 forks and triples, IT490/250 wheels F&R with twin leading shoe front brake, Honda CB250 Nighthawk rear swinger (as its a beefy looking square tube jobey that looks like the custom built flat tracker ones as it is) and many other non-Honda bits, I was surprised at how it has all fallen into place so nicely, as if it were meant to be... Thinking about checking whether BITSA rego plate is not taken already down at the DOT..

Anyhoo, tanks all.

Tom.

Looks like 74 husky guards were used. They have Hodaka or husky type air filter round shell for filter and vynal to keep out muck that snap fits on to frame, have photos. Mostly used Honda xl or cr forks ,some had maico forks.

Hi there

I'm just going to use Preston Petty yamaha IT type fenders as If they get damaged (doubtful) they arent a rare commodity and they do them in a blue that I like with the enduro numberplate headlight to match. That way the only thing I've got to paint is the tank. I'm pretty sure tank is stock XL, I will probably use a Honda MR175 / 250 tank as they are 3.5 gallon as compared to 2.5 which is a little small for me.
