Tyre selection
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:16:44 PM »
I'm hoping to do some long distance desert rides around easter this year in some fairly remote spots (The Kimberely) and am trying to pick some decent heavy duty off road tyres, I'm considering some Motoz tyres as they seem to have a good reputation for rides like the Finke. Does anyone have any experience with these or any other type of tyre used for these conditions?

Ran Maxxis Desert IT s on my XR650, great on rocks and hardpack due to the close pattern but not flash in Mud.  rear lasted for about a 1000 km.

Did around 2000k's on a Motoz on the back of my 625 through the desert and some blacktop and looks like it will easily do another 2000. Dulop 606's aren't bad either.  Used Michy deserts before but I rekon the Motoz held up better and would use them again. I had a narrow rim and used the 130 but the rekon the 140 is better suited.
