2012 Classic Dirt Track Championships - Canberra October 6/7

For those of you who want to get dialled in for the Classic DT Nats , these  practice days and a club day in the next few weeks,from Darylene.

Hi All,
we had a great Social ride day on sunday at the Dt and kumagutza with about 60 people turning up,everyone had a great day.
We have organised a couple more of these days,the next one is on sunday the 12th Aug and sunday 2nd sept from 10am till around 4pm.
 
also next race day is 26th Aug with a working bee on the sat 25th from 8am,so please help support your club by coming along and giving a hand.

Heh, I was just kidding about the eye twitching thing, but I am right in saying you do a great job on the start gate. Nonetheless as someone who is really enjoying a second take at dirt track racing I can sympathise with your feelings about which side of the gate you'd like to be on!

And yes, with a couple of practice days and a club day coming up, I highly recommend getting along for a ride if you are planning on racing the Classic DT Nats. The track is really good these days and we have a free flowing race packed program on club days and plenty of track time at practice days (plus you can go for a burl round the new Karmagutza MX track as well).

The practice day last weekend was HUGE. Looks like Dirt Track is really finding its feet again!!

oh you think DT's heyday is back again do you graeme?  well time will tell.  just cause you managed to con me into coming out to try my hand at it last sunday, don't mean nothing.  ok, there were a fair few bods about and stuff.  and yes, i didn't mind being able to hold the throttle on for way longer than i would over the hill on the mx track.  but i've not quite thrown the towel in on the jumpy bumpy side of things yet.

i guess it weren't bad fun tho.

It's a whole different mind set to MX, yes you get more track time on MX but it's the flat & fast stuff that get's my adrenalin pumping.

Still on my list to do but a very very full OCt for me each weekend is an Aussie or state title for something.

Are the supp regs out and linked on here yet ?  at least if i Dl i can get my arse into gear and look at bikes to sort out to one side pending.

Reminder to all that this event is coming up fast. Entries close 12 September which is only a bit over a week away. Entries so far have been slow so get them in asap so the club can move ahead with planning and prep. And yes, I am one of those who hasn't entered - I'll get mine off first thing Monday.

Yep, finally got the finger out and sent mine in today. Pre 78 125 and Pre 78 Over 250. I'll only be playing in the big class but hope to have a bit of a go in the 125s. Should be a fun weekend!
