First up, I have no idea.
However, my opinion is that it sounds weird that they'd go to the trouble of stamping an engine so they could remember who's bike it is.  :D :D

I'm totally prepared to be wrong on this one and it could be easily proven by giving CD a call.

Common practice in the US on works bikes. Initials anyways.

The rims are "Peter Jackson" blue???

First question, what year YZ is that.
Second question, what years did Dack ride for Yamaha.

I thought he was with Honda around the approx year of this bike.

Went to Yamaha for 1988.
The Ebay bike is a 92 model, (or thereabouts - too lazy to go back and check the listing)..

I dont know about you guys,but wouldnt it be great if it was an ex Dacka bike.Its cool having a bike with real race history.

Yeah it would be, but it looks like a stocker with blue rims and what is perhaps an Ex-Dack cylinder. Hardly something with a real race history…

It could be his, he retired at the end of '92. But it doesn't look particularly trick…

Dack rode for Peter Jackson Yamaha in 91/92.
It's a '92
The standard s/arms wern't welded, anyone know CD?
