Engine codes for tt/xt

I have got two motors, one has 1E6 prefix and the other has 2J2. Can someone tell me what they are please.

2J2= sr500e &f 78/79

1E6 will also apply to Australian delivered  XT500D/77

With these cylinder heads,can anyone tell me what size the valves are on tt/sr/xt as i have a couple of heads that i want to id

yes brad, do that mate, get out just a little bit more old fellow,
go and roll a barrelo, whilst eating a caramelo, and so forth and such...
can't help with the heads, big inlet valve is SR and latter model TT

brad i think xt and tt are the same and sr are bigger vavles and tt dont have the round glass  cam window  to help you start .if that makes sense

Hi Brad,
TT500C/E/ XT500C/D  Inlet      45 mm
                               Exhaust  39 mm

TT500F 1T1 engine pre fix  Inlet  47 mm
                                     EX  39 mm

Info from '79 Cycleserve manual.

SR will have the 47mm inlet and ["longer cooling fins on  the head."] quote  from article in VMX mag

(I have this info at my finger tips at the moment as new years project is an XT500D for dirt track)

Just to stir things a bit more,

If your 1E6 motor has the kick start indicator window on the end of the cam cover it's a 77 or later XT, if no indicator it's a 76 XT.
It looks like the 1E6 code could go through to about 79.

2J2 is the 78 SR 500. These have bigger fins on the head and are the only model to have the heavier crank.
