Hi Guys, great shots keep them coming, Re the second action shot, the reason I was using #2 is in 1979 the acu of nsw wanted to use #1  #2  #3  for finishers in the NSW unlimited c/ships.Greg Primmer won and Steve Gall and I tied for second,Steve also placed 3rd in the motocross titles and he wanted to use #3 to save changing over, so I ran # 2 for 1979 ! It was easier to stick with our own numbers !  I'll also dig out some old shots when I get a chance.

I've just been informed that my mention of the "LATE" Doug Platts was wrong.
I obviously got my wires on old stories crossed and I really hope I haven't cause any grief to himself or his family.
Faithfully,
Steve Askew.
P.S. I feel crap right now.

Curly dont feel to bad about it. We all get it wrong more than we ever admit to and that you have put your hand up quick smart is the way to go. Funny when I read your post re Doug's demise I meant to ask at the time what happened but got side tracked for one reason or another. Whatever, your latest post is all good.

Thanks for your support Col.
I had a similar thing happen to me, someone seeing me at a school reunion and saying they thought I'd been killed in a motorbike crash, I was in my late 20's at the time and laughed it off, but it is a sobering point.
Dougie was a bloody good rider in his day and I hope he's still full of health and involved in bikes in some way.

Great stories and pics guys. The pics of Nepean brought back memory's of a 6 hour there in about 77 I think. Our team did no good as we were too hard on brakes but I witnessed one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
There was a guy on what I remember was an American Bell framed Honda with an XL motor absolutely creaming everyone when all of a sudden there was a lot of smoke and a funny noise coming back into the pits. The Honda engine had broken the top out of the crankcases and the haed and barrel was going up and down but still running some how. It was my only go at Nepean but what a great event.
Cheers Stan.

Well I'll be

Ok If that has worked the Revs photo was taken at Yass in 197something at the presentation after a final, Doug won it, I came second , mind you , with tyre marks from KP on me mudguard and on me right arm.

We were trying to con Gough into having a skid around on Doug's bike , he didn,t as he reckoned we were all mad !!

I knew Peter Lee was old but I'd honestly never picked him for being this old.

113 Rod McNabb, Thats definately Lucky 99. Late 1975 Marchmont, Yass, I think Alan. Met the great man "fossil" the year before at Mt Ginn, I think he rode up the tyre wall on the straight, correct me if I'm wrong mate. Can't beleive there is 2 XL250 powered Hagon in that shot, still chasin Hagon for a bigger version of same.
