WR430 82 Wheels & Spokes
« on: March 08, 2016, 03:38:32 PM »
Just looking for spoke sets for my 82 WR430 17" rear & 21" front if someone knows a good source.
Also I want to use the original rims and wondered if anyone knew whether I could get them re anodised and polished?
I know can get new rims but really prefer to use the factory rims.
Am in Melbourne so local would be even better.

Buchannan's in the USA will do sets of SS spokes for huskys. We just received 3 sets for huskys , but they were for the 18 rear and 21 front . Great service , very easy to deal with and prompt delivery.

Yes do not use a 17 inch rim unless you want to have a very limited range of tyres to use. 18 inch much more user friendly. Husky went to the 18 in 1983.

Going to be running more adventure type tyres on it so not too bad running the 17".
Been checking out the Pirelli MT21 rally cross and the michelin T63 both have sizes to suit.

I'm running a set of Pirelli's on my 420 auto at the moment.  They are new on the bike waiting to be used this week-end . I will let you know how they go.

There are at least 6 brands of 17" MX/enduro tyres to choose from, how many choices do you need?

I rebuilt a 1983 510 4T.. had the Nordisk rims blasted / polished and then re-anodised.. they guys did a great job.. cost about $100 each rim.. the kicker is.. the business is here in WA..
