84 wr gear box,
« on: November 17, 2012, 03:12:02 PM »
Hi all,

Have pulled down my 84 250 with the gear change problems and looks like the box has seen better days with lots of wear to all the gears.

Would any body in husky land have a gear box for sale? also after the best place to buy a full gasket set?

Thanks Chris.

Tritrophy on eBay and Husqvarna-parts.com should have gaskets.

What gearbox problems do you have andnwhatvparts do you need specifically? The gearbox parts are common for many years of Huskys. Again the two sources above may be able to help. EBay is always a good source of Husky parts.

The gear box problem is wear on the gears, at some stage it must had been run with little oil or no oil in the gear box.

The left side crank bearings are oiled from the gearbox oil  and the left hand case as been cooked at some stage with all the paint coating bubbled and missing.

The wear on the gears is in the form of bad grooves like some one has put a file to them.

I have a new box on the way from the US hope its in good nick.

Thanks Chris.
