cz 360
« on: April 02, 2012, 11:36:59 AM »
I have a problem with the threads on the top of the carby on a 360 CZ they are worn and the top comes loose, it has a mikuni carb with a flange fitting which I don't think is the correct one, can anyone suggest a way of fixing the problem or what other carby I can use.

Cheers Pat

Pat if the top comes loose buy a new Mikuni,I think Hatricks in north QLD have the 36VM for 138 bucks.I reckon spiggott rather than flange mount is the go but you will need another manifold,Les at VMX unlimited has those or ebay one.The off the shelf 36 has pretty much what you need as far as internals(as per CZ madness carb specs) I run a bigger main jet though 330 I think. When you've tuned it up it should make a big difference to how your engine runs, you dont want the top coming off your old carb when your giving it some.

I'm riding both 250 and 360 twin pipes tomorrow. Real keen to have a good run on the 360 after all the issues we had. Been sorted on a dyno by Tony Bogaart. Making sure they are right for the titles.

Spoke to Hamster his 400 should be back together soon after the Mr Motocross havoc.Lashed out and bought a GMC pipe for the 74  had to weld on a mount last thurs(courtesy of Pete's workshop)looks ace,put the new carbi on this bike also so I'll give it a run at Coles Creek. Also got a GMC swingarm for the pre 75 bike with the 360 engine fitting it up today quality stuff.

yes will be there, i put shaun on the new 250 for the first race and it was all over from there. he got pushed wide over a berm and done his left wrist. the rear pipe ended up faceing the wrong way on the bike. so go to plan B now, pull the 250 out and drop in the 400 in the next few weeks. need some advise as i will need a new pipe for the 400 as i do not have one yet and who bulids a good one.

Gmc for the pipe Brian.
The 250 twin pipe is flying, Paul. The 360 is a different animal as it only revs to about 5800 rpm so it doesn't feel like its got a lot of power. It does everything else well.

Yeah Brian gotta agree with Brad GMC for the pipe.Ask him to put a rush on it though a master can't be hurried. It would be interesting to line up the 250 and 360 twinports with comparable riders, sounds like the 250 would come out on top.Have you found any info about squeezing a bit more out of the 360 Brad?

No, but I am about to. The barrel on it has been 'ported', in commas as it may not be a good job. When the second barrel has been bored I will swap it over to see if there is an improvement in hourse power.
